We have always enjoyed Sizzler. Loved the remodel, it took care of the noise issue in the place. We hadn't dined inside in a while, we have just been ordering delivery the last few times we had gotten food from here. I got a coupon recently that required a dine in visit, so we decided to go this week. We arrived yesterday and the place was empty. I believe 5 other tables. We have never been to Sizzler and the place wasn't packed. This should have been a warning to us. We ordered our food, 2 steak(medium/well) & lobster with loaded baked potatoes. The food came out super fast. We noticed that the guy that took our order, was also bussing tables and he also brought us our food. He bussed 2 tables while we were there and there were a lot of tables that were dirty and were never cleared while we were there. Very odd. So to the food. We got 2 pieces of toast. They came out looking just sad. They were not fully cooked and greasy as hell. One of the steak and lobsters was cooked fine. But mine was not. It came out rare, very rare and it was so tough on one end. It was just such a poor quality cut of meat. My lobster was not fully cooked either. It was cold and so fishy. I brought them home to cook them more. This was a mistake. I ate a few bites and could tell the taste of the lobster was off, so I tossed it. I should have sent the stuff back, but I never saw staff until we asked for a box. We just wanted to leave at this point. I was sicker than hell all night. Lesson learnt. We used to love Sizzler. Never had a bad meal there, but last night was a disaster. Our table was being harassed by several flies as well. This was puzzling as well, flies in winter has to be a bad sign. No one checked on our table to see if we needed anything, until we wanted to leave. And it seemed like one guy was running the register, bussing tables(or trying to)and bring out the food too. I don't see us going back again or ordering online again. Not after this visit. No wonder the place was empty.

Of all the steaks I have gotten they all had way too much pepper and the mashed potatoes had too much garlic. When I was young I have had steaks that were extremely good. I'm not sure if it is just the current management that has the food so seasoned. I enjoy the service and the atmosphere but I suggest that you tell the staff that you like the meal less spices. I am nearly 70 and everything I eat I have a lot of sensitivety to everything.

I ate at Sizzler in Bakersfield while traveling through this past Sunday & was very pleased with my food & the service. I ordered the steak & unlimited shrimp. My shrimp was freshly cooked, my steak was seasoned well & my baked potato was really good but the best part was my server Michelle V. She was on the ball. I never had to wait for a second or third (I know!) plate of shrimp or a refill on my soda. She was on it. Somehow she knew to bring a soda refill to go with extra ice without my asking for it. She must have remembered me from a previous visit. I don’t write reviews very often but I wanted to this time to say I love Sizzler & what a great server you have in Michelle V.
The steak is very good. I am never disappointed when I come here. Lobster is very good. Employees are very nice. I also love the salad bar. Very clean restaurants.
