Mauro, who owns and operates Star Catering, was awesome from our initial conversations regarding catering our wedding to a flawless execution. As my now husband and I live rather far from the Fresno area it was often tough to coordinate with our vendors, but Mauro was always super accommodating. He went above and beyond with a tasting, despite a busy schedule and was great with menu recommendations. His prices are reasonable, service options were exactly what we were looking for, and most importantly, the food was amazing. All of our guests have said how much they enjoyed everything from appetizers and dinner to an ice cream dessert. He even cut up and served our cake which was a nice touch. Let me start by saying. Mario went above and beyond with all he did for my family, my husband, and myself. My wedding was held at the top of a hill at my family's lemon orchard, on a day that I honestly believed would not have rain! Haha, funny, we had hail and snow!!! But that didn't stop Mario from being there for me and ensuring me that he'd make this meal happen, and make sure it was the best thing I could ask for. He really brought me to tears with how much he cared and wanted to make this a magical night for me. His food, mm mm mm, delicious!!! I absolutely loved the menu he put together for me, everything was crafted so well and met all my expectations. I will recommend his service to EVERYONE I know getting married and or having an event they need catered. Star Catering agreed to cater our wedding after our original caterer unfortunately was not able to pull through about a month and a half or so before the wedding. Mario and his team did a great job serving up burgers for our backyard wedding and we got a lot of positive feedback about the food from our guests. Star Catering does require the full amount paid a week in advance. This was not a problem for us, but some people could be uncomfortable with that. Luckily Mario and his team provided a wonderful service, would recommend!

We are so thankful to Star Catering staff and Mauro! We planned our wedding for the last 2 years because of COVID and Mauro was our last vendor to seal the deal! We come from a large family who are big on food and well let's just say, the plates were wiped clean. 10/10 in every area! The staff was so helpful and a pleasure to work with! The lumpia appetizers and Porcetta we had were amazing ! Mauro is very professional and easy to work with! We were given the option to try our menu prior to final selection which was so helpful! Star catering also provided our chinaware and glasses! We included bar services with our dinner and that was also perfect on every level! Mario was so amazing to work with. He catered for our wedding this past May and it was better than we could have imagined! He is so personal and worked one on one with us to create the most perfect, personalized menu. Him and his staff even provided bartending for an amazing price. Food can either make or break a wedding, and Mario's catering company definitely helped make our wedding! We would recommend him and his staff over and over again!

I contacted Mauro because my husband and I were looking for unique good food for our wedding. We didn't like any of the catering companies in the Valley because you had to choose from a set list of generic (lame) food. Our first meeting with Mauro we sat down and dreamed up food that we like eating which is a mixture of everything and lots of Asian influences. Since my husband is Chinese we wanted that incorporated somewhat. We also don't love cake and since Mauro did pastries we asked for a trio of pastries for our wedding instead. So we planned the menu and did a tasting closer to the wedding. Based on the tasting we changed up 2 of the dishes for the wedding. Our menu was appetizers of chicken satay skewers, egg rolls, and fried cheese cubes. Buffet of beef brochettes, bulgogi pork loin, dirty rice, garlic veggies, beef tortellini in butter sauce, mixed salad and bread. Passed dessert trio of Venetian cake, coconut custard puff, and a mango fruit tart. We worked back and forth a lot with Mauro and sometimes it wasn't the most clear communication, especially about the changing costs of things. But we got through it. I also asked for him to add tea, hot chocolate packets and apple cider for our toasts onto the menu. Then my husband really wanted a small little cake just for cutting pictures. Mauro said we could do that but it ended up adding a bit of money onto the bill that I wish we knew about before. But he made it pretty for us and that's all it was needed for. We also were able to rent our linens through expo event rental using Mauro's name which really helped. He delivered those the day before so we could set up in advance. Mauro also brings his own drinks, plates, cups and utensils which was hard to find with any other caterers. An extra detail is that he prints up the menu for the tables to read! Because of the pandemic the buffet required everyone to wear gloves so they wouldn't touch things that he provided. On the day of it was very windy and I heard they had trouble getting the fires to stay lit. His staff were very sweet and brought us fresh appetizers after we returned from photos. Even with that they were able to get our food ready just a little late. He hand carved the pork loin for the guests and it was delicious, everyone loved the pork. I loved the rice which was like mushroom risotto and the coconut cream puff was fabulous! My husbands favorite was the mango tart and the really delicious veggies (not bland watery steamed veggies!). His staff also perfectly timed the apple cider pours for the toasts after dinner. Our only 2 complaints were that the beef was very hard to chew and the Venetian cake on the trio was not the flavors we were expecting. He really did A LOT for us and worked hard making it beautiful and flow. I'm really glad we had good unique food and got to have input in every item of the food. Mauro is a personality that shined at the reception. It was difficult sometimes to get the correct information from Mauro in the time frames given. I would have to ask many times and in the end it cost a little more than we originally discussed which for these reasons I give 4 stars. But with all that he did, we are glad we chose him for our wedding.

If you are looking for a caterer, Star Catering is the best!!!! I would hire Mario and his staff again. They catered my wedding last weekend and they were amazing!!! From the food, to setting up, cake cutting, and cleaning up they were very polite and personable. Mario is the best, he works with your budget and he will go above and beyond to make your event run smoothly. He scrambled around the Thursday before the wedding and not only found us tents because it was suppose to be raining, thunderstorms. He had them delivered and set up on Thursday. We got some many compliments on the food and service. Thank you so much Mario and Staff.
