Waited by the door even if I have reservations. There's only 2 servers in the dine in area and even if it wasn't too crowded, took awhile to get our orders. Our appetizer took a long time and we suspect our server forgot to place it in. We ordered the Seafood tower. After some time, the ice started melting and the food is floating on the melted water. We liked the Salmon Burrata, the appetizer that took a long time.

The Tappenyaki was not working so went to a table. When the water came we should have known how terrible this place was going to be. The water tasted like chemicals. The salad was very large pieces of romaine lettuce with an okay dressing. Soup was so-so. Bacon fried rice was greasy and lukewarm at best. Filet was cold and undercooked. Steamed rice was blah and again, lukewarm. Sukiyaki was not good. And steak rice bowl was very peppery. $158 plus a $30 tip because it wasn’t the servers fault, for food we didn’t eat. We left Hiro Oishi because of the wait. Worse decision ever!

Came here last night and was pretty disappointed. The staff was nice and the vibe was good. But we got burnt rice and burnt steak when we asked for medium rare. The sushi was great and fresh but having burnt food has us not wanting to come back.

I'm going to start off with how much I love the staff. My husband and I sit at the sushi bar every time we are always well taken care of and the food is always satisfying and delicious with good portion and nice flavor. My biggest complaint is that they switched to pink ginger it was almost enough to make us stop going, but I hate the thought of not supporting such a wonderful team over something so trivial.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. First off the waiter was making “snow” 👃🏻 jokes in front of our kids.. Service was very slow. To top it off we all get food poisoning a day later! Full
Blown vomiting, fever, diarrhea, chills you name it.. NEVER EVER GOING BACK!

Amazing quality fish, artfully made sushi, friendly and attentive service! This place is so underrated!!! Perfect for those who crave sushi that tastes more authentic and less fried and Americanized. Even the prices are super reasonable for such great quality.

Overall experience was 10/10. Finally a Teppan chef who was engaging, entertaining and fun! His name was Home aka Homie! Food was delicious as well. Will be our go to spot!

The first time we came here, we had chef Homie and he was fantastic! The food was delicious and he really engaged the table.
Upon our second visit, we had a different chef and the whole experience fell short. Hostess kept us waiting 15min past our reservation time with no end in sight. We got seated after asking another employee to step in and help us. The chef did not do any tricks or engage the table other than the basic onion volcano. The food had little to no flavor, and the fried rice had bacon in it which made it taste smoky and burnt.
We loved our first visit but this second visit was so disappointing we don’t feel inclined to return.
Chef Home went above and beyond in every possible way. From the moment he arrived, we felt cared for, respected, and truly valued. The food was absolutely incredible—full of flavor, beautifully presented, and prepared with so much passion and excellence.
What made this experience even more special was the way he treated my baby, Genesis. As a mom, that meant everything to me. He was so patient, kind, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful toward her, making sure we were comfortable and at ease the entire time. That level of care is rare and speaks volumes about who he is as a person, not just as a chef.
You can tell Chef Home doesn’t just cook—he serves with heart. He creates an experience filled with warmth, professionalism, and love. We felt spoiled, honored, and incredibly grateful.
If you’re looking for someone who delivers exceptional food, outstanding service, and genuine human kindness, Chef Home is the one. We will absolutely remember this experience forever and recommend him without hesitation. 🙌✨

I was so impressed by this spot — the aesthetic and branding are on point. Felt like a hidden gem here in Fresno. I tried the Tora Tostadas and the Omakase Box, and both were absolutely delicious — fresh, creative, and full of flavor. It’s great to have sushi of this quality right here in the Central Valley. Definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for an aesthetically pleasing sushi experience in Fresno!
