Tried this place off the food truck in river park during the farmers market Tuesday night and it was disappointing. Indian food is full flavor and spice and it completely lacked both. The people are great, nice and polite but not so much the food. Sorry!! Royal taj is our top standard for Indian cuisine so blame them! lol

The service was great, staff was very friendly. I have to say the food was not. I hoped the food would be really excellent, considering I ordered a chicken tikka masala bowl with naan bread. I didn't realize there was lettuce packed under my rice and chicken. She said the chicken masala came with rice and house made salad, but I didn't think it would be all layered together. The chicken was dry, but the sauce was ok. The rice wasn't typical jasmine rice, and the naan bread was so tough it hurt my teeth.

Don't come here listen to all the other reviews. There's sooo many better Indian places in Fresno (Indian Kebab Palace, Bollywood Street Food, both of the Curry Pizza options) that this is not worth the time. $14 for the chicken tikka masala and it was just lacking in flavor, feel like the went too easy on the spices. The garlic naan at Trader Joe's is honestly better versus $3 for this teeny portion that barely had any garlic and was not doughy at all.

Got the paneer tikka masala. Honestly very over priced and such a small portion. I understand they’re trying to be healthy and all but come on it’s Indian food. Add some spice and flavor. It was just a tomato purée with salt and pepper. Wouldn’t try again

Disappointing food. Curry is actually something to the consistency of tomato paste. Salad underneath has so much sweet liquid it made the already soggy rice even more soggy. Not worth the $17.

Girl at the counter was very nice, but the masala was awful. Chicken was dry and tasted freezer burned, sauce was watery and nothing like actual tikka masala. The Naan wasn't even good. & how can you make bad Naan? Absolutely not worth it.

The food was horrible didn't even taste like authentic Indian food got the tikka masala bowl and had a salad underneath. The service was ok I got chicken sandwiches from there but also got the Indian food.

Promising upstart offers good value. Nice folks, tasty lunch but it could have been a lot better. This new concept is a small double restaurant offering both Indian food in a select menu and spicy chicken type products. It's a comfortable location right next to the market where I eat pretty often. It's a much better value here, by the way...I love that they didn't have any annoying music echoing through the space driving me nuts! The help was friendly, but I needed time to look at the menu. I know that some people enjoy being assisted, but let ME lead. I usually don't and like to gather my thoughts and don't like folks rushing in, over helping me. I'm just not somebody who likes to be helped much and will ask specifically IF I have a question. Me SOOO not shy! This is a nice location off of West Avenue and Herndon. It's a safe location and the dining room offered three tables and six chairs that were spread out nicely. I ordered the pepper chicken, MEDIUM spice and specifically asked for a lot less rice. I'm not sure why people want to interpret that as being something other than I've specifically asked for. The chicken came out REALLY mild, it lacked the gravy that usually makes curry so tasty to eat. And it had some nice texture but I would've appreciated more onions. Did I mention that gravy makes or breaks a curry/meal??? Let's come back to that..Some of these places seem to think that we're not very adept or familiar with the cuisine and they need to d*** it down. Perhaps they're worried about old people who shop around here frequently... I find that insulting. If you're offering a range of spices, make sure that you create it in the range that the customer has selected. This was barely mild by any definition and it's not what I ordered (said "MEDIUM."). I also asked for hardly any rice, and they still gave me too much. Some of us do not WANT rice and try to remove cheap filler garbage from our diet... the dish needs more texture and a lot more sauce. Having said that if I had to re-emphasize that once more, and they did not follow instructions, I would not return....It's still a new place working out some kinks, so take that into consideration. If you're ordering, realize it takes about 10 minutes to make so factor that in. I was not in a rush. And not every customer needs to have some sweet drink. Some of us consider that like smoking a cigarette, terribly damaging! And some like things absolutely stripped down to the most simplest form, deriving pleasure from ***NOTHING*** excessive. And I mean nothing! It would be nice if they were prepared with a simple courtesy cup, like 8 ounces of water and not some huge thing to get wasted. Even if some fancy drink was FREE, I'd ONLY opt for water...EVER!!!I will eat here again and try something different and I'm sure since I created this page that they'll be paying close attention to my review. Take away: We expect a type of gravy and juiciness with any curry we order! Get on it! This aspect is super important for your business! Let spicy mean, spicy! Let medium mean, medium! And let mild mean, mild! Do NOT reinterpret something that I specifically asked for. Some of us are super precise and mean exactly what we say!Again, the value here was far better than over at the market, and you couldn't go wrong with one of the bowls here.Just don't d*** it down. We're sophisticated, spend thousands of dollars a year on eating out and we know our way around the cuisine! Some of us, like ME can even put together Indian dishes.... or a thousands other dishes. Get me??Best of luck to this business in their new home. As a bonus, the cell tower in the corner of the property looks like it's nearing end of completion. That is a welcome change because cell service over here is super terrible... it looks like a big pine tree is going in!-G

Best Indian food in town! Their service is amazing. The staff are friendly, very welcoming, great at recommending new dishes to try, and so generous. We keep talking about how good our meal was and we can’t wait to go back!
