I thought this restaurants is one of best Katsu restaurants in OC. Also waiting and ordering system was very convenient. Employees are kind, too.

Came here to try 88 Katsu and I’m already planning my next visit. The inside is super clean with plenty of seating, and I loved that you can order directly from a tablet at your table — so easy and convenient.

I got the Jumbo 88 Katsu and wow… it was HUGE. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and definitely left me stuffed. I also tried the cheese katsu and it was so good — melty, savory, and perfectly fried. Everything comes out on a tray with a full spread of sides like kimchi, curry, soup, and different sauces, which made the meal feel extra satisfying. The rice + curry combo was honestly a highlight for me.

I also ordered the zaru udon, which is a cold udon dish. It was light, refreshing, and really tasty — a nice contrast to the heavier katsu. That said, the jumbo katsu completely stole the show.

Overall, in my opinion, this is the best katsu in OC. Great portions, great quality, and a comfortable dining experience. I’ll definitely be back.

Stumbled across this Katsu restaurant after initially headed to a different place that closed down and glad I did. It’s way better than the place I was going.

There was a katsu place in the exact same spot that I loved but it didn’t survive so hopefully this one does.

It certainly deserves to make it ‘cause the Chicken Katsu Curry I got was fantastic. Huge chunks of perfectly lightly breaded white meat chicken on a bed of homemade curry with rice and sides was delicious.

It’s super bright and lively inside. You order on a tablet and the food comes out hot n juicy. The upbeat music (Kpop?) keeps the energy up too. Love it. Fun little place.

Let me introduce you to my Japanese neighborhood gem for insanely crispy and juicy katsu. Honestly a lot of spots around here are hit or miss but I LOVE this spot.

Famous for their Japanese fried katsu that's crispy without being greasy and meat that's tender and juicy, this spot is one of the few that have also mastered the curry sauce. I prefer to pour my curry over rice and theirs is actually more of a meat sauce and goes down SO well with rice.

Don't sleep on their udon either. The noodles are bouncy with a super unique shape to them, and the kitsune broth was umami without being too heavy.

Thanks for reading! ^-^

Best katsu I've ever had, and service was great. Got the chicken katsu, chicken was super tender and juicy...and the breading was so light yet crispy. Definitely coming back.

I visited this Tonkatsu (pork cutlet) restaurant recently. The portion size was generous and everything felt freshly cooked. The breading was crispy without being greasy, and the meat was tender and juicy. It came with a nice side of rice, miso soup, and some pickled vegetables, which complemented the main dish well. The atmosphere inside was cozy and comfortable, a good balance between casual and nice dining — great for lunch or dinner. The staff were polite and attentive, and service was quick even though the place was moderately busy. If you’re craving well-made Japanese-style pork cutlet with good value, this spot is worth a try.

Saw this on an Instagram reel and it did not disappoint. Super easy to book a reservation on Yelp and I was seated right away. Ordering is self-serve on a kiosk, and the simple menu with photos made choosing easy. The food came out fast, the portions were huge, and the value was great. Most importantly, everything was delicious. The service was the perfect balance of self-serve and table support. Definitely recommend for your katsu fix!

The Food:
I tried the Cheese Katsu, and it was exceptional. The quality of the pork and the melt of the cheese were spot on.
My Recommendation: They serve the katsu with salt and wasabi on the side—do not ignore this! The combination of the rich, fatty cheese katsu topped with a bit of wasabi is incredible. It cuts through the grease perfectly. I absolutely loved it.
Wait Times & Access:
We had to wait about 10 minutes, which wasn't bad at all on Friday night.
Pro Tip: You can join the waitlist ahead of time using Google Maps or Yelp to save yourself the standing around.
Parking:
There is plenty of parking available since it is located in a shopping mall.
Verdict:
Come for the katsu, stay for the wasabi combination. Highly recommended

Everything here is delicious. The katsu is so tender and has the perfect lightly crispy exterior. The regular katsu comes with katsu sauce and (I think) thousand island sauce. You can also get spicy katsu, which is just the regular katsu with spicy sauce, or curry sauce with your katsu. I think that one portion is very big - too big for me, at least. I would recommend sharing an order of katsu with someone else and ordering a noodle dish for yourself. They have kitsune udon and cold soba, which are both very good as well. Service is mostly self-service as you order yourself on the tablets, but the workers are nice too. The restaurant is very casual and located in a plaza with other restaurants. Even though they are new, they’re doing everything perfectly from my perspective, and I have no notes.

My boyfriend and I went in last week 11/14 to try this new restaurant, we ordered the chicken katsu and udon. It was really really good and juicy and thick. My boyfriend loves it! We are coming back with our kids this weekend again.
