Incredibly delicious! I can’t wait to go back! We had the Parmesan scallops, and the Peruvian ceviche with raw halibut. I’m not usually a raw halibut fan, but this was incredible and my favorite dish of the meal! The owner is incredibly gracious and so kind, we will be back again soon (we’ve already been three times since they opened).

I’d been complaining about the lack of great sushi restaurants in the neighborhood but with Akashiro here, I definitely won’t be complaining anymore.
Ordered the omakase, ceviche, and the Akashiro role. Would definitely return for the omakase, and interested in trying out other dishes.

My wife and I had an amazing time. We were lucky to sit at the bar and Chef Diego took care of us. The cebiche was amazing. We enjoyed the fried yucca. The bluefin tuna tiradito was very tasty. Our favorite rolls were the Parri Maki and the Parmesan. We had a dessert that tasted like breakfast. Like a Belgian waffle with syrup. Diego also shared his story and the history behind the Japanese Peruvian fusion. We'll be coming back soon!

The staff is friendly. The place looks contemporary. The ceviche is something you've probably haven't tried before. its a 8 out of 10. the food is fresh but other than the ceviche things lack flavor. The cost is on the high end to lack.

Authentic Nikkei Flavors at Akashiro in Fullerton, CA
As a Peruvian, I’m always on the lookout for authentic Nikkei flavors, a rare find in the US, and Akashiro’s omakase brought me right back home. Each dish struck the perfect balance of freshness and that bold, citrusy kick I’ve missed, flavors I haven’t been able to find at other “Nikkei” spots.
The standout? The tuna cuts. Wow. Each bite was a smoky, savory masterpiece that left me speechless. It’s rare to experience such depth of flavor in omakase, and it truly made the meal unforgettable.
The nigiri and hot dishes rounded everything out, a perfect blending of Japanese and Peruvian cuisine. Akashiro is a must visit for anyone craving genuine Nikkei flavors in the area.
Parking: There is a parking garage right next to it
Kid-friendliness: I went with my 3yo and they were super attentive and had a menu for him. He loved being there, felt like a grown up.

A unique experience that is definitely worth exploring. I would recommend their omakase tasting course, as it provides the best variety and experience. It's pricey compared to other fine dining, but you 100% without a doubt get what you pay for.

WOW the flavors are so unique here! The parmesan maki was scrumptious! It has the perfect mix of buttery & cheesy, with a little crunch to it. The parri maki was delicious as well! The lucama souffle is to die for. Will definitely be coming back again!

Excellent quality food. Looks great, tastes even better.
My friend wanted to try this place. We came here to celebrate our birthdays. His, his gf and my birthday ate in August. He has been eyeing this place for awhile. The decor inside is very elegant and has a nice japanese sushi restaurant feel. We ordered a few appetizers and all of the Nikkei Sushi to try. We also ordered the tuna, scallops and uni hand roll. The chutoro maki roll, the veggie roll and one other roll but I forget the name. I wasn't a fan of the fried Yuca as it really didn't have much flavor and very little sauce came with it. The chutoro maki roll was very delicious. The hand rolls were very delicious too. The nikkei sushi was my favorite as it reminded me of the sushi I ate while in Japan. I highly recommend this spot but it is a but pricey lol

This was one of the best meals of my life! We had the full experience omakase to celebrate our anniversary and it was so delicious. The ingredients were of the highest quality and the cadence was excellent. The chefs were friendly and informative and the atmosphere was very chill. I wish we lived closer so we could be regulars!

Had a great time here tonight. Very unique flavors. Would recommend everything we tried except the rolls. The scallop Parmesan, the hamachi sashimi, the pulpo olivo, all the nikkie sushis were fabulous. The fish melted in your mouth with great flavors. I just wouldn’t recommend the rolls because they were a bit dry and not nearly as good as everything else. The servers were really friendly and the atmosphere was great. surprised not more people were there.
