El Fortin is an authentic Oaxacan restaurant that serves flavorful dishes in a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. The Tlayuda and Clayuda are standout menu items, bursting with rich flavors and fresh ingredients. The food was delicious, including guacamole, nopalitos, caldo de pollo, chile relleno, enchiladas, champurrado, and gorditas, all made fresh. The restaurant offers a cozy, traditional home-style feeling that reflects the cooking from Oaxaca State of Mexico. Guests should expect some wait time during lunch, as great tasting food and good service take time. The ambiance is cute and makes diners feel like they are eating in Mexico, with decor that transports visitors to another place. The prices are reasonable, and the staff is friendly and attentive. While the space can be a bit tight, the overall experience is excellent, making it a highly recommended spot for anyone seeking a taste of Mexico.
