I'm not typically a donut person, but during a visit to Costa Mesa (a while ago), a friend insisted I try Fill Bakeshop, and I'm incredibly glad I took their advice. Tucked away in Orange County, this bakeshop was a delightful surprise that challenged all my previous notions about donuts. Even though they've since moved to Fullerton, my experience in their Costa Mesa location left a lasting impression. From the moment I walked through the door, I was enveloped by the enticing aroma of fresh pastries—a true feast for the senses. The menu boasted an array of unique flavors and offerings, far beyond the scope of any ordinary donut shop. After some thought, I chose several of their signature mochi donuts. These weren't just ordinary donuts; they were extraordinary. Each donut offered a perfect mix of chewiness and softness, with flavors that were both innovative and impeccably balanced. But the excellence didn't stop at the donuts. Their drinks menu was just as remarkable, with a variety of coffee and tea selections that perfectly complemented the pastries. I indulged in a matcha latte, which was flawlessly prepared—sweet, yet with a depth of earthy matcha flavor. The staff were genuinely warm and welcoming, eagerly offering recommendations and sharing their personal favorites. The cozy and inviting atmosphere of the shop made it an ideal spot for enjoying a morning treat or an afternoon snack. For those who find themselves in Orange County, seeking out Fill Bakeshop is a must, regardless of their current Fullerton location. Even if you don't consider yourself a donut enthusiast, there's something at Fill's that will captivate your taste buds. Their innovative take on traditional pastries, coupled with a commitment to quality, shines through with every bite.

I had to come here for the holidays and also had to try their seasonal pie they were offering, Ferrero Rocher!!!! Wow, this place does everything right every single time they offer new items. I also had to get their Jasmine tea tart and the Ube tart, both delicious and hopefully will be a permanent item. But the Ferrero Rocher pie, OMG, this was heaven!!!! I barely even eat pies, but this one I could actually eat all by myself. There was a layer of custard in it and that really made it even better. Everything here is so delicious and I'm still mad they closed the one in Costa Mesa/Newport area since it's close to where I work. Ugh, please bring another location back in my area!!!!

Cute little walk-in store front offers outdoor seating on a shared patio in quaint shopping center. There's even a Barnes and Noble right next door! The lady greeted us immediately and asked if it was our first time in. She even thanked us for stopping in to explore what they had to offer. She gave us a quick overview and let us take our time deciding. They have a handful of custom drinks to order from, a few egg custard tart flavors and a multitude of mochi donuts. The only potential for gluten free is their açaí bowls, which all look delicious. The flavor combinations are unique and the decor/display has a modern feel with the black and white color theme accented by the white subway titled walls. It looks very clean and you can see into the kitchen, so no secrets here. The mochi donuts are $2.50 each and they will give you 10% off for ordering a dozen. While in the high side for price, I find most creative donut shops are on the higher side considering they are fresh made daily and you won't find yourself paying that high end price for yesterday's leftovers. We ordered a dozen to try each flavor combination offered, one of the egg custard tarts (strawberry), a Dirty Uber drink and the HAUPIA CHOCOLATE açaí bowl. *****the verdict***** The dough light, airy and a bit chewy as a mochi donut should be. The flavors are VERY light in flavor overall except the strawberry and guava. The strawberry was overwhelming and had no chocolate flavoring to it, the green tea wasn't bad just not my favorite flavor, black sesame was very strong in Sesame flavor, cookies and cream didn't taste like cookies at all, The chocolate was classic, the guava was my least favorite, the Vietnamese coffee, and the almond were my favorites overall.

Needed unique desserts for a gathering so I decided to give this a try since I have been eyeing on them for a long time. I love the fact that they had variety of cookies, egg tarts and mochinuts that I ordered all three of them. The cookies were very gooey and soft, the egg tarts were moist and silky, and the mochinuts were gooey and flavorful. If this is your first time, I recommend trying the ube cookie, original egg tart and strawberry and chocolate mochinuts. You won't regret! The shop is clean and chic. You can see all the colorful and beautiful dessert through the glass display. The clerk was very patient while I carefully chose the desserts and kind to allow me purchase dozen donuts and split to two different boxes because I had to deliver to two different locations. The entire time she didn't lose her smile so I felt welcomed.

Came in to fulfill my cravings for a mochi donut. They had so many different flavors! Ended up ordering the Guava Cheesecake, Matcha White Chocolate, Oolong Honey, and Pineapple Dole Whip. They all had a nice chewy texture and the flavors were very good. I think my favorites were either the Guava Cheesecake or the Pineapple Dole Whip. Also, we ordered some egg custard tarts and the Ube bread with the coconut filling. The bread was good but I think I liked the donuts more than the bread. Service was great and they were very quick in getting me checked out!

Fullerton location is just as good as Costa Mesa's. Can't go wrong with either their cookies or donuts. The Ube cookie is soft & chewy bursting with flavor. Their mochi donuts and have a light & soft texture. Their glazes are where their distinct flavors come out. The usually gave a rotating seasonal selections to try.

I wish I could give this a 3.5. The reason I've rounded up to a 4 is because their mochi donuts are still the best in town however some of their newer items since they've expanded just aren't as good. Unfortunately it is not as good as their Costa Mesa location which sadly shut down. A lot about their bakeshop has changed since I first went. I greatly miss their mochi cookies and the strawberry lychee drink they had. Their soft baked cookies just aren't as good as their mochi cookies. I am at least thankful they brought back their pog juice. It seems like their menu has expanded a lot more in the last few years as they focus on other baked goods. They are now making breads, cakes, pies, egg tarts, and acai bowls. Their mochi donuts are still the best thing on the menu.

Visited this Fullerton location and the donuts tasted different than when they were at the Costa Mesa location. The texture was different. It was missing a lightness that balanced well with the chew of the mochi. The glaze flavors were not as pronounced as they once were. It was great to see a variety of donut flavors and drink options too. We tried a slice of their crunch cake and POG cake. The POG cake was the favorite. Consistency was light and flavors were exactly what they claimed to be. Employees were friendly. Easy to find parking. There's no tables inside, but a few outside.

Favorite mochi donuts ever! I love that they are always introducing new flavors and new products, it makes me want to come by often to try all that they have to offer. Would highly recommend stopping by! The most recent time I visited was during a weekday so it was not busy, but you could also place an order online if you want to be safe. Hope they'll bring back their mochi cookies in the near future :)

Their ferrero rocher cake was not it; custard felt way too watery and the overall texture was like baby food. Disappointed for sure.
