The butcher did a great job trimming and cutting the brisket to my request. Staff was friendly and the meat quality is top notch. If I’m ever down that way again and need quality meat, I’ll definitely be back.

This store is great. The people that work here are always helpful. They will tell you just how much to buy based on your needs, and how to cook it. They have always been spot on. I don't eat a lot of meat, but when I want something special I always come here.

Ours is a common family story: been coming here for many years because it's simply the best, (and we've sampled numerous others in the area). The new management didn't skimp at all on quality, and actually raised the level of customer service, imo. Bill was very helpful in finding a winning recipe for the fresh Thanksgiving turkey we ordered last week. Ask about their seasonings for roasting.

What a great place!!!! This time I bought the 20 pk of delicious preformed hamburger Pattie's!! Yummy!!As usual I also grabbed 4 large containers of their delicious salads. If you haven't tried their yummy salads, you are really missing out!! Service is always with a smile!!!!

The quality of the meats is fantastic, however, I had a problem with the handling of raw meats without groves & then slicing my deli-meats (also w/o gloves) without washing their hands. Very unsanitary I believe.
If you haven't been to Gem, you need to go. First, the meat loaf is worth the drive from anywhere in Southern California. Second, the steak, ribs, and other cuts will give any high-end butcher a.run for their money. I just did a 6 hour smoke with their beef back ribs. The ribs were ridiculously good and the seasoning (in house) that they recommended was icing on the cake. This place is a hidden GEM for the carnivore. Prices are beyond fair and the customer service is top notch!

Old school butcher shop. Many regulars. They carry Boars Head lunch meat which is top of the line. I got the house made beef jerky because of another review but, I am not impressed. It's dry, dry, sal, but nothing else, no smoke, and tastes old. There are a few imported snacks but they are super expensive and dusty. I got a brownie by the register that had no branding that was good. The store is small but many items have no pricing. There was a chest style freezer that had some items I weren't sure if it was for human consumption or for pet foods. Labeling isn't clear. One pack was clearly wings and had a price but no description. I came for marrow bones but there where none in the cases, no signs, and only after I was going to leave I mentioned it and they told me that they did have them. There are temporary walls in one dark corner, and what used to be refrigerated shopping sections that are now piled with miscellaneous items that seem like there's no plan or purpose. And I thought maybe they were maybe planning something new with the temporary wall area but I found a picture it in the background of a review from 8 years ago. There are small aluminum pans by the registers that maybe they serve something hot in?!?!? Not sure because they're no signs or indications that they are anything but maybe a forgotten reason from a long time ago. Everyone looked tired. I left feeling tired too.

I picked up my "The bachelor" order, and each item was wrapped with a label and packaged into box... Ate the filet mignon that night and of course delicious. Great meat & fish, service and their package deals are well worth the price!!! See y'all next month

I never give a 5 cause there has to be something to shoot for... First time here, not the last! Met the owner Bill and I asked him what I had to have. He recommended the Teriyaki Kabobs, Maui Beef Ribs and the Twice backed potato's...All 3 were delicious...the potatoes where other worldly! Great shop...Great Meat...Great Service!

I've been coming here since my dad used to take my brother and I 20+ years ago to pick out our own steaks (love the Spencers) and I've been happy with everything I've ever had. Even the smell of the place when I walk in brings back great memories. Love their salsa they keep at the front on ice too! If you're looking for a piece of quality meat definitely give Gem a try.
