Gen KKQ has been a staple for my family and I for years now. Customer service and care has decreased over the past months. I think it’s all just so rushed and they seem to want you in and out as soon as possible which is understandable as it’s a popular restaurant. Though! I think you should still care for your customers and check in on your tables here and there! This is specifically for our last experience with our server KEVIN which was not attentive whatsoever! If I could give him a 1star alone I would. Every and any question we would ask seem to bother him. On the other hand, we went in yesterday and Roach was our server. Absolutely nothing alike! He was attentive and observant and very kind! Thank you Roach for making our experience well pleasant.

I have a lot to say.. I was invited to this place for a birthday. I am Muslim and cannot eat meat unless it’s halal, so I called a week in advance to ask if I can just eat appetizers and not order from the All-You-Can-Eat menu. I show up today and they tell me I can’t order an appetizer or else I’ll be charged the All You Can Eat price.
I didn’t want to sit at the table and be the only one not eating, so I order the All You Can Eat and decided to just order seafood options. As I’m ordering, I order the Fish Katsu and they tell me it’s not a menu item anymore (even though it’s listed on the menu). I was literally only left to eat shrimp and calamari, which is what I ordered.
As our server is bringing out our food, they put what I thought was fried calamari in front of me, so I started eating it. It ended up to be fried pork.
As a Muslim it is forbidden to eat pork. I was so mad and sad that I just broke one of the biggest rules in my religion, and so upset that the restaurant gave no respect or attention to my dietary/religious restrictions. Never will I come here again nor recommend this place to ANYONE with any sort of dietary restrictions. The manager also didn’t care and did not try to accommodate us.

I have been through many Gen KBBQ experiences.
This has been the worse one I have been too, my server was some Hispanic Kid named Alex. First off there is a way to introduce yourself as a server.
I asked him what his name was and he didnt like that.
4 persons in a table , 3 waters , and premium steak that came out NOT premium.
Double dragons came out with no coconut, 0 communication.
Then the Kid Alex had the audacity to act as if his service is perfect.
Sorry Kid not for me.

Not coming here again, I dont recommend it to others as I had a horrible first time experience.

Bad service today, got ignored Tessa R. Was our server. Disappointed to say she only came up to us once and after the first round we decided to leave because the grill was burned our drinks were out and still hungry at it.

We had a great time at Gen Korean BBQ! My kids really enjoyed the experience — it’s something different and fun for the whole family. For someone who likes to take care of their own BBQ, this place is amazing. The food was fresh, the atmosphere was lively, and the overall experience was fantastic. Highly recommend!
I stopped by this location because I didn’t want to drive to Cerritos, but what a disappointment. As shown in the attached picture, I was served a frozen, tiny slice of brisket that was stuck together. During the busy lunch hour around noon, there was only one server trying to handle everything — which clearly affected the quality of service and food.

Today of so many times we come here all the way from long beach ,but today was super special all tanks to my server BABY SHARK he was beyond amazing in serving my family and always making sure we get our meats fast making sure we have our drinks topped off. 10/10 service and an even better attitude

The food was good. The portions were a bit small. I think they do this on purpose so people don't waste food. It was my first time coming to this location so it was nice. To get different cuts of varieties. He had to pay a bit extra. It was nothing excessive. It was fair.

I hadn't been to Gen in over 10 years and I finally returned for dinner to celebrate my birthday and I was amazing. Love all the meat options and will definitely be back sooner than later.

We came on a weekday right after it opened. The menu can be viewed on the phone but you have to order thru the waiter. It wasn't that busy but the waiter didn't replace our grill on time so our food was always burnt. The quality of meat was just so so and the waiter lost track of our orders ended up bringing a lot of food in the end. I would suggest to let people order it thru the phone so that it is convenient to track what they have ordered.
