We visited many different GEN branches in California and Texas. This branch did not meet my Food, service, and atmosphere expectations. The food portions were too small, so I had to order many times for four people, which was bad because they do not have enough staff to keep up with demand. The restaurant inside the room was too hot, keeping me sweating while eating! GEN has been my favorite restaurant, but I think this restaurant's branch could be better. I would recommend GEN but not this branch.
Been going to Gen for years and has definitely gone downhill. Our server had an entire section and was barely able to greet us. Random stuff we didnt order showed up at random times. The meats & banchan were all pretty bad quality & we got no banchan refills after asking 3x. The kfc was literally small chicken nuggets with a drizzle of sauce. Some stuff we ordered we never got. Just bad all around. Probably won't go back sadly.

Sat down after a 45 minute wait. The seats had oil droplets and tiny meat pieces on them. Wiped as much as we could with the tissues. But then our plates were dirty. Some of them had some kind of particles, almost like sand. And other parts were straight up oily. Ordered our food and got our food really fast. But just as we started cooking, the AC right above our table started dripping. It wasn't just one or two drops either, it was like it was raining all over our table, EVERYTHING got contaminated. They offered to sit us down at another table but seeing how dirty the whole restaurant was, we lost our appetite.

Israel our server greeted us with amazing service, never had us waiting, he was fast and friendly and he even served us our drinks before his shift ended making sure we get our refills in which we all appreciated very much please have him be shift leader because he literally had the floor at ease and on time with our meats and sides . In the past, the staff at this location has been very unfriendly and unwelcoming. But I feel like that might be changing. They got a new young manager who really was taking care of us the other night. He was super friendly and made us feel welcome even though we were there late. It just felt like this was a good turnaround. The one thing that this and every other gen has a problem with is getting drinks. We only ever order water, but it still comes way after the food, and it almost seems forgotten most times

Went here for visiting family. Our server was amicable and provided timely service throughout the entire time there. The place and table were relatively clean but the music was a little too loud. The food was good from what we had, and the sides were refreshing. Overall a good time.

I never leave reviews on anything. Iāve eaten at GEN before with no issues. However, this last experience was not okay. I went out with a friend for dinner and we had a server named Kevin. All of our food was good, but he was very rude. When he came to ask us if we wanted more meat, we took a moment to glance at the menu and he said āYes or no?ā in a rude manner. I decided to let that go, but from there on, things progressed. He started not placing our dishes on our table but instead waving them in our faces. When another server brought us small bowls of kimchi and other toppings upon request, he proceeded to tell us that we werenāt allowed to have those and he would āget in troubleā (Even though weāve always had these when weāve eaten here). He told us to move them around the table so they were less visible. How ridiculous. He continued to act annoyed about everything we ordered and even more annoyed that we didnāt want to order anymore after. Iāve never had an experience like this at a restaurant but this was unacceptable so I just had to say something.

This is easily the worst kbbq restaurant i have ever been to. Easily. Very very poor quality meat. All mushy. Beef brisket is like leftover meat trimmings and scrap meat. Very small portions + beef brisket that shrink and shrink and shrink as they get cooked. Not enough for even a party of 3 guys (limit 4 meats each order so you have to keep ordering - for which i deeply appreciate our server). On top of that, no ventilation above each table like other kbbq restaurants have. Uncomfortable air quality. Service was good. Very diligent server. But long wait time in the beginning when we sat down - over 10 minutes til we got greeted by a server; and over 25min total when the first plate of meat was put on our table. Why gen quality went downhill so much?? So absolutely disappointing. Extreme disappointment. You will understand if you still decide to visit here.

Visit sucked haven't been to this location in years but the waiter (Kevin P) was not there, he straight up gave us opposite of what was ordered never brought 5 of the items requested came to the table in the 2 times he did show up he asked if we want a tray change as the tray was about catch fire like yeah should've been changed a while ago. He spent significant time at the tables that he thought were bigger tips good job!! Meat had bones and lacked flavor obviously old save yourself some money and frustration and go elsewhere. It's a chain for a reason but come on !!! Go to Mr BBQ don't waste your money....
