Hibachi -San was the restaurant I went to at CSULB that made love poke. Over the years I went to other poke places that completely changed my taste palate for the better. Going back to school as a CSUF, the poke here really is okay. It's not the freshest and the portion is ridiculously small compared to poke you can get for a couple dollars more with better toppings. I rate 3/5 stars because hibachi is a great starter for those wanting to get into poke.

Very rude service. Hispanic lady. Before they close 45mins, told me no brown rice, no avocado, no corn, and also NO drink wth? Lol i do not recommend this place.

I always get sushi rice, original salmon, original tuna and top it off with ginger, avocado, crispy onion and spicy mayo. It's one of my favorite meals high in protein and similar to a sushi roll. The food tastes fine to me but I am not at all inclined to try the hot proteins. I really do love the bowl I get and it's one of my favorite meals ever, but the service here is lacking. I don't know if the employees get paid misery wages or if the volume of customers is overwhelming, but any friendly service is few and far between. A lot of the employees are rude or short and only want to get your bowl done and out of the way. Try asking for a lid or extra anything, and few of the employees will try to hide how much of a nuisance any simple request is. I've tried using online ordering to avoid waiting in line or having to interact with the employees but approaching the counter to ask for my order yields the same hostile, annoyed or disinterested interactions. I still have to wait until one of the employees feels inclined to ask me which order I am picking up. I'd love this place a lot more if a self-service machine and payment system existed in place of the employees. Pretty good and affordable food overall though!

Hibachi san is good but not great. I did not expect CSUF's dining hall to serve poke, so I was extremely skeptical at first. For the latter, this is not a hibachi restaurant despite the name. After some quick searches I finally tried this place out for myself after classThe prices are fairly cheap, with the most being $14 for a large bowl. I'm not a big eater so even the large was a perfect portion for me. Though I could see why this could be a problem for some. The protein itself was okay. They were freshly prepared but the servers could be extremely stingy on the proteins. The scoops of protein were extremely small compared to a lot of other poke places but i suppose it's justified for how cheap the bowls are. As for the toppings, all were great except for the avocado. The avocado was blended rather than smashed which to me rubbed off the wrong way. The avocado itself didn't taste that fresh though. The service could definitely be improved. I understand if there's a rush and that there are long lines at the peak of the day, but the overall service ruined the experience for me. The servers will give you attitude even for the simplest things such as picking protein or asking for utensils.Honestly if I were craving poke during my classes I wouldn't mind going here, but this is definitely not the best poke joint for me.

Absolutely disgusting. I’d rather eat a gas station tuna and egg sandwich from a sketchy gas station than eat anything from here again. Got a teriyaki bowl. Meat tasted very old. Chicken tasted raw and metallic but was chewy and over cooked somehow. It was expensive and extremely gross just don’t eat here even if ur desperate.

Hibachi fan here.Food is great, love the half salad/brown rice option. Scallops, Spicy tuna, Salmon, spicy mayo with yuzu sauce is bomb.Just some of the employees have an attitude similar to an 9 year old that didnt get permission to play on their playstation. But some of them are pretty nice!

Dude at the front was not clear and was not patient with me. Neither he had good appearance as well.

The worst poke I've ever had. They changed the original protein and topping options. Barely any options. I didn't even eat the whole thing. Just unpleasant.

My favorite place to go in the TSU! Great price to portion ratio, and even the small bowl is filling for me. Love that I can get grilled chicken AND spicy crab mix together in a bowl! Definitely gonna keep coming back until I graduate!

It wasnt good at all...Obviously, raw fish is supposed to be fresh & if its not, its better to be frozen in right way...Hibachi is in school, so pricewise should be affordable for the all students...Too pricy for this kind of quaity!!!

If your'e in the tsu and just need something quick and filling to eat, I would say hibachi san is a decent place. They have a good variety of choices with either cooked and raw protein. I often come here during my breaks to order to fill me up. Even if there is a line, it often goes by pretty fast since the picking process is fairly straight forward. You can also grubhub your options and pick it up when it is ready. They also offer tea incase you also need something alongside your bowl.

It's not bad if you're craving a poke bowl but I do wish that they didn't pack the bowl with mainly rice. I think that the rice to fish/side ratio is quite off. Also, it kind of sucks that this place counts crabmeat counts as a protein because some other poke bowl places count crabmeat as aside. But overall all, it's not bad

This isn't Hibachi or Poki. It's just $10 for a small bowl of rice and a few things thrown on top. I also agree with most of the other 1 star reviewers as well.
