I visited Honshu Sushi in Fullerton twice, initially drawn back by the delicious udon soup. Unfortunately, my second visit left me extremely disappointed. Partway through my meal, I found a black hair in my udon soup, which understandably ruined my appetite. Upon bringing this issue to the attention of the staff, rather than receiving an apology or proactive assistance, I was met with annoyance and indifference.
Additionally, an older sushi chef wearing glasses repeatedly gave me disapproving glances, making me feel as though I was somehow to blame for the issue. This reaction from the staff compounded my discomfort and left a lasting negative impression.
While the food initially attracted me to return, the consistently unwelcoming and uncaring service overshadowed any positives. Unfortunately, this experience not only spoiled my meal but significantly reduced my appetite, forcing me to cancel my order entirely.
Due to the unsanitary issue and especially the staff's indifferent and unprofessional response, I wouldn't recommend dining here again.

Just a terrible experience here. Stopped in with my wife, daughter, and 2 granddaughters during a break in the girl's water polo tournament. Needed seating for 5 and the waitress acted so annoyed that she had to push 2 tables together to accommodate us. One of my granddaughters wanted taco bell, so she brought her food in with her. Our surly waitress actually asked her to take the taco bell bag off the table so other patrons wouldn't see it, as if taco bell is their competition. The food was good though, I give it a good sushi rating. The prices were reasonable. The kicker for me was the way the bill was presented. They actually had a plastic spoon taped to the 3 cent plastic Bic pen, because, I guess, patrons steal a lot of 3 cent Bic pens at this restaurant. Never. Ever going back.

I very rarely rate places online, unless I’ve had a stellar experience. For lunch we ordered the spicy pork ramen, gyoza, side of rice, and the priceless rolls of Ex-Boyfriend and the Burrito. Fantastic portions, everything is tasty - the rice is soft and perfectly cooked. As someone whom keeps an expansive hot sauce collection at home, I can verify that the ramen has great kick. Friendly and prompt service on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Check them out!

My family was craving some sushi and we were contemplating between AYCE and a pay-per-plate sushi restaurant. We decided on the latter and came to Hoshi Sushi and that was definitely the right choice! A good sushi spot should be quality over quantity, and Hoshi Sushi delivered. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. The customer service was immaculate. The restaurant was spacious and the ambiance would be excellent for date night or just dinner with some friends or family. Everything tasted delicious so it was hard to pick a favorite. From the presentation to the taste, it was all fantastic! The kids loved the salon sushi, so we had to order that twice. There was a lot more on the menu that I wanted to try, so I’m definitely coming back. If you’re in the mood for some quality sushi, I would highly recommend this place.

My husband and I have been coming to Hoshi for years and can't get enough of it. Even after recently moving two cities away, we still make any excuse we can to make the drive to have dinner with them. We always appreciate the quality of the food and the amazing service they provide.If you are thinking of catering with them, do it. I recently had my 30th birthday and my husband ordered catering with them and we were so impressed. The platter was so beautiful and everyone complimented how delicious the food was. Not only will we continue eating here, but we will definitely order catering with them again.Thank you Hoshi! You're wonderful as always.
Vegetarian options: They can make orders vegetarian along with providing options on their menu. The avocado roll is amazing.

I was been this place lunch hours with my friend early of this month .Ordered 2 rolls and udon.Seem not okay not fresh food.Even too busy serving service only 2 young girls.Me and my friend started hurt stomach on our way to home.I feel like die, more than 10 times kept DIARRHEAAlmost until to midnight.They Just answered, manager will return call ~~~none of returning call from them,,,,,,When my friend called this place let them know check it out what I ordered food .I don’t get any phone calls from this place .We are very Disappointed about this place.I will definitely say Not good place .

Came here on a Sunday afternoon. Ordered a Sushi Combo. Everything was pretty standard. Fish was cut generously and treated with care. Udon was solid. Restaurant was clean and staff was lightly attentive. Nothing stood out though. Free sauce cup of ice cream was interesting?Would go if in the area, but wouldn't go out of my way to come here.
