Food was good, service was very bad. I'm sure they were shots staffed but our server took our order and brought the bill never came back- but made sure to charge us 20% gratuity

I usually come here once in a blue moon to have a ridiculous feast! I pretty much order everything off the main menu, yakitori menu and happy hour menu. Service is exceptional too! I always have such an amazing dining experience! Best restaurant in all of Fullerton!

I’ve been to many izakaya places, but this one is by far my favorite. The food is consistent, and if you’re looking for healthy meal, this is the place to go. They offer an impressive sake selection and a wide range of vegetarian options. As for the ambiance, you’ll feel you’re in Japan without leaving town. Highly recommend!

Absolutely terrible sushi (dry, flavorless and smelly), but excellent izakaya and cooked foods. Stay away from the raw stuff here, it's clearly not a sushi restaurant but have sushi offerings to appeal to a larger customer base. Great for larger groups and finger foods.

Edit: year 2025 and quality of food went down, service is far worse, prices went up, and now they are closed Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Really? You can tell operations are going downhill and it's sad to see another failed iteration of this restaurant. I only hope the next owner will bring this restaurant back to its former glory.

Charge 3% if you use credit cards, use that as for tips, but food is good 👍.

Came by based on the number of reviews, but was informed mid way that they would be closing earlier and their last call would be sooner.

We ordered a dish that was out of stock and had to change our order, but when the check came, they still charged us for the dish.

The food is okay, but maybe it's just inflation but the pricing felt a bit high. All in all it was a bit of a disappointment not sure I'd recommend the place until I try it again if there was a special going on. Oh there's also a surcharge for using a credit card.

Be careful if you want to order sashimi or nigiri, the fish is not very fresh. The whole squid we ordered had some slimy-like texture in it, we didn’t know if it was fresh. The beef and chicken breast grills are unseasoned and tasteless, we had to dip them with soy sauce to make it taste better. The tables are sticky but the staffs say it’s because of the spray used to clean it. We had barely served by anyone tonight, nobody came to replace our plates, take away the empty dish, nor add more water.

Love the ambience here. I prefer the floor seating, it's super cozy! All of their yakitori items are really good. Cut rolls are also great. Would recommend getting a variety of yakitori (skewers), some small apps (shisamo is my fave), and a cut roll or two. Perfect with ice cold draft Beer. Waits can get long so get on the wait-list via help in advance! To-go has been good as well but in-person is better to enjoy the vibes

Cool traditional vibes! Really enjoyed my dinner. I definitely recommend it.

Food is great, vibe is great, staff is great. I rated 4 stars because the tables and the floors are sticky, the bathroom is rusting, unkept and it looks ugly outside.

The food is great. My family loves to eat there. Everything we have ordered is good. This is our go-to Japanese restaurant. Can get very busy. Use their reservation system on Yelp.

The employees are very friendly and the food is quite delicious. Although the price is a little high, it is a mostly satisfactory experience.

Really fresh fish! Service was quick and everything tasted amazing. I don’t know if this place is underrated but I consider it a gem in Fullerton/placentia.

This place doesn’t compare to Honda-ya in Tustin; I know some reviews state they do, which is why we picked it for our group alternative as a better middle point… but it’s not as good.

Some of the skewers we got didn’t have any flavor, such as the quail egg and chicken heart/gizzards. Some were really good- such as the prime beef. Sushi rolls were kind of a miss. We got some albacore slices that were ok

We sat at on the tatami mats (which is super cool to offer!) but it ended up being sort of uncomfortable for most of our backs- the padding support isn’t that good?

If you check in, you get a $3 beer — which is pretty cool! Service was decent. Ambiance is nice- fun place for big groups, lively but not too loud.

The food lacks authenticity when not prepared freshly on the grill. Meats were lukeworm and its possible that the establishment has undergone a change in ownership, and the current proprietors may not have Japanese origins. It is advisable to consider alternative dining options in order to make the most of your resources. Restaurant was dirty unkept.
