This is one of our favorite restaurants to go to in Fullerton. The food is great, friendly staff, and the aesthetic is cozy. General japanese theme with a variety of fun decorations through out. I like trying to find something new hidden somewhere.
The wait can build quickly as they are popular but small so be sure to get there early.

Best sushi
Some things I noticed...
Sake prices
Way different than what I saw online. They no longer carried a sake listed online, and sake prices in the restaurant were double what was shown online. I’m curious to know how much they sell—looked like the average bottle price was $60+.
Better than average fish quality (Sashimi)
I've eaten at a ton of East and West Coast sushi restaurants, and the sashimi quality here, for me subjectively, was 4.2/5—consistent across the 8 different fish I tried.
Hard-working chefs and staff
I sat at the bar, and the Sushi chefs were fast. (I enjoy experiencing that kind of efficiency.) They were also kind enough to share insights about their fish when I imposed. The waiter was able to make quick sake recommendations based on my preferences (I like it filtered and dry). When things got a little busy, it was clear they could handle the rush.
Intimate (small) restaurant space
The space is more minimalist than it initially appeared, relying on repeating motifs rather than true eclecticism for style. I bet eating here at night would be fun.

Best sushi in town. Big cuts for a good price. Will be my go to now!
Veggie tempura, salmon skin roll, and veggie roll all excellent!
The omakase was delicious and well priced for $50. I also added an Amber Jack and Madai nigiri, which were both perfect with a touch of yuzu kosho. Black cod misoyaki was perfectly cooked and charred for a smokey flavor. Sunomono salad was refreshingly tangy and the shishamo fish was well fried and seasoned. I want to go back for the nabe dishes and steamed rice pots. Amazing food and service 5/5 stars.
Great service, really enjoyed spicy tuna roll and green tea roll
