We decided to try this place after reading all the glowing reviews. Let me start by saying...this place is stunning inside! The restrooms even have beautiful paintings and were impeccably clean.
The wait staff were friendly and efficient, and the drinks were delicious!
For dinner, I had the Camarones a la Diabla (jumbo shrimp, cilantro rice, diablo sauce, and avocado). The sauce was incredible, and I could honestly eat that rice every day. My sisters each ordered La Tablita (steak, Jidori chicken, jumbo shrimp, scallops, and rice with beans). The presentation was a show-stopper—the waiter even lit the plate on fire, which was absolutely stunning.
While everything looked amazing, we felt the flavors could have been bolder. The dishes were visually impressive, but we expected a bit more in terms of taste.
Definitely, a place to go if you have a special occasion. The vibe is amazing and the food presentation is next level.

Nice place, worst food, wow! Went for a office party. trust me any other mexican place is better ! I had the worst Cadillac margarita ever! Served with a lemon! Margaritas should only be served with limes! Not only that he lined the rim with refined table salt! Granulated kosher salt at least, i felt like i was drinking saltwater. I asked for a negro Modelo and received it in a soapy glass! Stay away! Oh yeah we had fajitas which would have been okay the meat and vegetables were good , but not served with tortillas! 😭 Oh yeah the green cheese enchiladas were decent too.

A minute later, the “chef” comes storming to our table!! There was no introduction on his behalf or greeting, just pointed directly at me, verbally raising his voice:
“I specifically told you that you cannot bring the cake!” in an arrogant manner. “That cake cannot be on the table and you need to remove it NOW! Take it outside as long as it’s not in here!” All while there’s another big party sitting near us, just awkwardly looking at us. We were honestly thrown off, that we were expecting a “lol jk!” We all looked at each other confused and questioned each other; “did that really happen?” Our mood quickly shifted, didn’t feel welcomed at all or just not comfortable anymore. Seconds later, the restaurant manager approached us right away, Not sure if he noticed the aggressive chef at our table or if the hostess reported it, but he came by to apologize on the chefs behalf. Went over their policy, moved us to a bigger table, allowed us to keep the cake on the table as long as it was in the box, reiterated that the cake cannot be eaten on the premises. The restaurant manager also familiar with the chef, acknowledged he shouldn’t have approached us like that.
The server then approached us, greeted us warmly, took our orders. A couple of us ordered a flight of margaritas, they were ok. The food was surprisingly good, except that the tortilla chips were cold on the chilaquiles (we didn’t want to say anything, didn’t know if that chef was the one making our food, we were over him) As we finish our meals, the server then brought out a slice of cake and sung Happy Birthday.
We still didn’t know what to do with the cake that we brought in. Eat out in the parking lot? Stop at a store to buy utensils and sing in the parking structure? Luckily our service provided us with to-go boxes and utensils. So we figured we can just use that for the cake.
As we closed out the bill at Lagos, we noticed a small detail. The bill had an 18% gratuity that was added, that was not mentioned to us prior or during the service. on the menu it says 15% gratuity added for 7 or MORE guests!! We are all in the service industry, and would have met or increased the gratuity, but after everything that we went through the 15% goes a long way.

I am writing to provide some feedback on our experience, which unfortunately did not meet our expectations.
It is with disappointment that I share our dining experience was subpar. We noticed a lack of attention from multiple staff members, even though the restaurant was not crowded. It seemed employees were more focused on conversing amongst themselves than paying attention to the customers.
More importantly, the delay in the service of our child's meal after the main courses were served to the adults was displeasing.
The level of service we received did not reflect the quality we expected from such a reputed establishment. I believe it to be crucial for you to be aware of these instances as it greatly affected our overall experience.
It is my hope that our experience serves as an opportunity for improvement. In doing so, future guests may have a more pleasant experience than we did.

I am writing this review to express my disappointment regarding the poor experience my family and I had during our recent visit to Lagos Restaurant. Despite our anticipation and excitement to dine at your establishment, we were met with subpar service that did not meet our expectations.
Throughout our time at the restaurant, we encountered unacceptably slow service and a lack of attentiveness from the staff. It was evident that the employees were more engrossed in their personal conversations rather than catering to the needs of the customers. This resulted in delayed service, with the children’s meal being brought out well after the adults had been served their main courses.
Additionally, the level of attention we received from our server and other staff members was unsatisfactory. It is regrettable that our dining experience was marred by such poor service.

My family and I have been to this restaurant twice and somehow both times we have had the misfortune of having Jorge C (according to the receipt) as our waiter.
The first time I came was with my husband and kids. The table seated immediately before us had already received their drinks and appetizers yet Jorge had not even come by to get our drink order. I had to go ask another staff member if my kids could at least get some waters. Then at the end of the meal he brought our check and forgot to bring our kids the desserts that came with their kids meals. The food and atmosphere were so good that we figured we would come back with our extended family.
Somehow again we got Jorge and again his service was awful. It took forever to get our orders taken for drinks and food. When taking drink orders he asked 3 of the 11 people before turning to walk away. We had to stop him and have him get the rest of the orders. Then he never once checked on us our entire meal to bring refills. When orders came out my husband’s food was missing entirely. Again I had to seek someone out to get his food as Jorge was nowhere to be found. Yet again he brought the check and forgot about our kids desserts.
I highly recommend that this restaurant either retrain this individual or reconsider his role.
The incredible food and beautiful atmosphere make this restaurant incredible but his awful service makes it so that my husband and I will never return.
Parking: There is a free parking lot directly across the street, curbside parking around the restaurant and a free adjacent parking lot.
Kid-friendliness: They haven an amazing kids menu with dessert included
