Did not like any of the dishes I had there. The service was great and the atmosphere. Will probably just go there for drinks next time if I go back.

Delighted the food was so good (Sheps pie and Bangers Mash) Some high chairs are not very comfortable and the pub is also a sports bar but we enjoyed our visit. Very reasonable prices and portions.

Service, drink, and the ambience were all great. I tried their Halloween drink, the beetle juice, something apple, and (not Halloween drink) vodka drinks. They were great, very friendly service.

Fun place to grab drinks over the weekend, it’ll get really busy especially Friday and Saturday nights but it makes for a good social outing! The lemon drops are the best I’ve had, bartenders are extremely friendly.

This is in no way an "Irish" pub. How do I know? I'm a 40 year Fullerton resident now living in Ireland, typing this review in an Irish pub in Loughrea, Ireland.
So...Mickey's has done a nice job renovating the space - the newer shutters give a nice open feel, the staff during my July 2024 visit were pleasant, and their food menu is nicely varied.
But it's not Irish. The food menu is totally wrong for anything you'd find in an Irish pub in Ireland, and, most damming, the Guiness is cans, not on tap (sacrilege, since the official symbol of the Irish Government is the harp of Brian Boru, and the govt literally licensed the image form Guiness and flipped it - what I'm saying is an "Irish" pub serving Guiness in cans has failed). There are other things - like the "Irish potato skins" having Monterey Jack cheese. There are, literally, only two restaurants/pubs in all of Ireland importing Jack. I know the owners of one of them. Ranch dressing does not exist in Ireland - period ("Cool Ranch Doritos" are "Cool American" here.). Garlic mayonnaise would be the equivalent (I miss ranch dressing).
I couid nitpick for several more paragraphs, but, what we have here is an utterly American pub.
("Irish Nachos" is actually an offensive name to the Irish)
(In fairness, here in Ireland I mock Irish restaurants and pubs for their "American" or "Mexican" items. Cajun spice is NOT Mexican - it's Creole.)
Perfectly good bar - but, just to drive it home - ain't Irish.
Three stars for a good food menu, decor and staff. Minus one star for the utter lack of Guiness on tap. Minus another star for all my other nitpicks.
I cheerfully admit this review is a direct response to other reviews calling Mickey's, "a genuine Irish experience." Yes, it's a perfectly good downtown Fullerton Bar. Good menu, good decor, friendly staff - it's just not even close to Irish.
