Stopped by PlayCoffee and was pleasantly surprised. We ordered the Sudachi Matcha Tonic and a cold brew, and both drinks came out quickly.
The Sudachi Matcha Tonic was excellent. It was very matcha forward with a subtle citrus note. Not overly bright like a yuzu tonic, but just enough citrus to notice as you sip, allowing the matcha to remain the focus. The cold brew was also well done. Smooth, not bitter, and with plenty of body. Very easy to drink.
I also really liked how the space is laid out. They repurposed shipping containers in a thoughtful way, creating clearly separated seating areas. There is an outdoor section, an indoor section with bathrooms, and a main kitchen area where you order drinks and browse merchandise. The layout feels intentional and works well even when the shop is busy.
Looking back, we probably should have asked about the beans because the coffee was good enough that we would have happily picked up a bag or two to take home.
Quick service, well executed drinks, and a unique space make PlayCoffee a spot worth revisiting. I will definitely be back to try more from their menu.

Play has been a staple in the Fullerton Coffee scene. Since they opened they have been offering the highest quality coffee in the area by far. The location itself is a piece of art. Custom built shipping containers that have been arranged and designed beautifully.
They always offer the highest quality coffee beans from around the world and even offer some roasts that are Play exclusive. Their second location in the Orange Circle is an experience all in itself located in a historic bank building.
Overall going to Play is an experience. You don’t just get a quality drink but a wonderful adventure.
Cannot wait to see what they dream up next!

The only issue I had was making a decision on coffee beans to purchase. It was an excellent experience. There is a ridiculous selection of coffee from around the world and an excellent menu for beverages. I had a fantastic shot of espresso and an excellent pour over. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and super friendly. It is worth going out of your way to make a visit

Utterly pretentious people – their coffee beans are apparently harvested by angels. They'll patronize you with assumptions, then aggressively suggest a tip for literally just breathing their air.
Save the coffee and pastries – trash the arrogant humans serving them/ I mean behind the counter.

The coffee, vibe, and service are all superb. They definitely offer high-quality coffee, but the prices are a bit on the high side.

This place is a joke. I don’t know what Play Coffee thinks they’re serving, but the tea I got was straight-up disgusting. Tasted like someone dunked an old tea bag in lukewarm tap water and called it a day. No flavor, no freshness — literally the worst tea I’ve had in years. Honestly, I’ve had better tea from a gas station. Total waste of money. If you care even slightly about tea, do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place.

Rude employee was going to buy a coffee and turned me terrible employee should be canned and wouldn’t let me use the restroom
A Volcano Latte is good.
It includes sea salt.
Ordered a vanilla latte… The girls were nice but took way too long to make a very mediocre coffee. Im not sure if the coffee was made terrible because they were closing within 30 minutes.
I can’t imagine how long it would take them to make coffee during busy hours. Definitely won’t be back to find out.
Got the matcha maple, really zero maple flavor and really weak matcha flavor. Got a couple of other drinks and it was the same. Weak coffee flavor and none of the additional flavors they boasted on the menu. Ordered multiple drinks and i got the impression that whoever was working there wasn't too enthused about that.
Maybe it was an off day for the baristas but probably won't be back.
Had a very unusual, but delicious coffee experience when I tried their Volcano Latte with Oat Milk. Enjoy creative coffee concepts that you have to experience to appreciate. Very good.
Parking: There is plenty of parking in a lot across the street.
