“This is a great option for dinner when you are staying at the Ranch at Death Valley. We had heard that the restaurant in Stovepipe Wells had much better food and was cheaper than eating in Furnace Creek so we drove to Stovepipe Wells and that was a big mistake. Stovepipe Wells only had two or three things on their buffet, plus a iceberg lettuce mix and some kind of a brownie for dessert. Nothing looked fresh and there was no option to order off the menu. We drove back to Furnace Creek (we were staying at the Ranch) and were pleasantly surprised to find a really good buffet at 1849 Restaurant. They had 3 or 4 meat choices, a few vegetables, a nice salad bar, soups, lots of bread choices and many desserts. Everything was good and service was great too. They were constantly replenishing the buffet and nothing sat out long. I would go back for sure if staying in the area.“
