Last Kind Words Saloon

Not sure how this place could be rated poorly. It’s a beautiful saloon with great atmosphere and we thought the food was very good. I had the pasta paparedella and my wife had a wedge salad. Both very flavorful and tasty. A must see location in our book. The only thing that would make this place better is some background music. There is no music here at all. Maybe some will like that.

I have never had such a bad steak. The beef has a very strange taste. The spaghetti I ordered was sprinkled with as much salt as the sand in the desert.

The queso was mediocre and the menu limited. We finally ended up with salads and queso. The waiter was cool. The atmosphere pretty cool!

This restaurant exceeds my expectations to have such wonderful dinner and atmosphere in the middle of the desert. The services are great as well.

Absolute worst experience. We made a reservation on their website in advance. I even received a reminder email on the same morning of our reservation. When we arrive for dinner at our reservation time, the host informed us that they unilaterally cancelled our reservation. No apology or explanation. This is unacceptable. With so few dining options, it appears they don't feel the need to show common courtesy or even the resemblance of quality customer service. Shame on you.

I really don’t understand the negative reviews. I’ve had dinner here last night and tonight. Both times the food was great and the service very friendly. Yes, it’s super expensive but it’s in the middle of nowhere so really should be expected. Servers Ron and Jose were attentive and friendly. Pasta (pictured) was garlicky and fresh. Steak was cooked to perfection and dynamite shrimp were better than expected. Two good meals!

Better than expected based on reviews! The filet was good! Definitely on the pricier side but you're in the middle of nowhere so what do you expect.

Our dinner was generally pretty good. I had the ribs, which were excellent but the lettuce in my wife's salad was not the freshest. The service of the host and the bartender was just average. Fun and interesting decor.

You can’t drink their free water, it smells like formalin. You know the scenic spots, there are too many tourists, so you don’t have a choice. It’s good to have something to eat! We waited an hour for our turn to get a table, and another half an hour for our food to be served. We were so hungry that we ordered three fillet steaks for three people. The portions were a bit small and the taste was not good, but we still ate them all!

I found the food to taste pretty much like a school cafeteria. But that’s ok because I knew what I was getting into. The staff were friendly but nearly all of them looked like they were just paroled from prison.

Vegetarian chili was 💯. Salmon was an ok meat alternative, nothing to write home about but appreciated a fish option out in the desert. Service was prompt and friendly.

Cool place! Service and atmosphere are great. Food can be expensive, especially for portion size, but some of their other meals were affordable and delicious (especially the bison chili). One of the three dinner options on the property and the best out of the three.
