7 Leaves Cafe Garden Grove (Westminster)

Tried the mung bean tea this time. Quite sweet! I get most of these are premix but at least premix at less sweet and add sugar as needed per the customer. I much prefer the taro tea. Ive noticed 7 leaves is leaving a bit to be desired vs other newer tea shops that are higher quality and fresher tasting. They need to continue to innovate and up their game in high competition areas like Westminster with 5 drink shops per block at least. They might be able to get away with this say at their Cerritos location which has a constant line as there is nothing else around but their stores are dead in the Asian areas for a reason. Keep pushing 7 Leaves as I do appreciate your fresher options like real taro in your taro tea which is rare but you need to not make things ao sweet with inability to customize. Boba was a bit hard today too... likely cuz they aren't going thru it as fast??

I'm quite picky about my boba. I need it 25% sweet with light ice, and I really want to taste the tea in my boba drinks.
This is a recent thing in an effort to be somewhat healthy so before i always had gotten 100% sweetness in my boba. This cafe makes their drinks with quality tea and I really like that. My one very big quib about this place was that they don't do sweetness levels in percentages so that knocked a star off for me bc they only have heavy sweet or light sweet, and light sweet in ny opinion tastes like 100% sweetness. I tried asking for no sweetness and they couldn't do that. The cashier was really helpful and patient with all of my questions so that was great.i ordered a jasmine milk tea light sweetness light ice and it was very very sweet, but the tea was very strong which I liked. I am noticing a trend in boba places going hard at making their drinks sugary and I wish that wasn't the case. I think the milk teas might be sweeter but I will make an edit to this post when I get a non milk tea.

Dietary restrictions: Good for lactose free folk but not diabetics or those looking to cut their sugar intake.

Can't remember her name, but I went in there not knowing what crystal boba was, and ended up leaving with it lol. She saw the look on my face and was super helpful in navigating it. Definitely recommend the house coffee.

Reviews on this page are fake because this place was not even her here at this location 4 years ago! It was a Walgreens drive through. No one needs a bldg that sells only Tea, and to call it a Cafe is a huge overstatement. It's not a cafe. I'd rather go to Starbucks.
