Today was meant to be one of those rare, golden evenings—a celebration of two retirements and two January birthdays, all folded into one. We chose Buca di Beppo because it promised warmth, a family-style cheer, the kind of gathered happiness we wanted to mark this turning of the page. We arrived with that quiet, hopeful excitement that comes with a long-awaited treat. But somehow, from the very beginning, we slipped through the cracks. Seated in a quiet corner of the bar, we watched as laughter and attentive service flowed everywhere but to our table. It was as if we were behind a pane of glass, looking in on the celebration we'd come to join. Our server, who was also busy behind the bar, seemed worlds away, and the minutes stretched out slowly, emptily—no water, no greeting, just the growing sense of being forgotten. When the food finally came, long after we'd given up on timing, it was a mix of small mercies and deep letdowns. My wife's Alfredo was freshly made, a cruel contrast to my own plate of rubbery, clumped pasta and lukewarm sauce, clearly abandoned long before it reached me. By then, we were just hungry, and the chance to speak up never came—our server vanished again for what felt like forever. We ate in quiet resignation, the joy of the occasion seeping away with each passing minute. I had told them, more than once, that this was a special night. It's a detail that now hangs in the air, unanswered. In the end, we paid dearly—not just in cost, but in that quiet feeling of having been overlooked on a night that deserved a little light. Maybe somewhere, in another location, the spirit of that restaurant still lives. But tonight, as I paid for my own birthday dinner in silence, even the dessert we were promised felt like a distant rumor. We left carrying the weight of the evening, a celebration that simply... wasn't.

We waited despite the reservation. We weren't offered bread although other tables were. Our antipasto salad was light on ingredients despite the cost. Our order was incorrect.

So much food!! 2 pastas (meatballs bigger than your fist), cheesey garlic bread, salad and cocktails, all so delicious, filing and wholesome. It was great to have real food. Thanks for having us and Vanessa our waitress was fantastic.

Food was pretty good. Expect to spend about $50 for a family size portion. Every plate is to share. Our server was very attentive and friendly.

We go every year on new years but this year the food was just not the same. Increased prices with not the best food anymore. Felt rushed to hurry up and that's how the food was being rushed out. Not fully cooked, not totally hot. It was so disappointing after many many years of going to this same restaurant.

Our server was Vanessa, and we had just the best time here! The service she gave us was great and the decorations are really unique that make it such an interesting and atmospheric place to eat! I came here with my family and we had so much fun, would definitely recommend anybody to come here!! Love this place! 🫶🫶

Our waitress was friendly, got the orders right and made the celebration wonderful. Her bright cheery attitude was refreshing! Everything tasted delicious and the food bundles made it very affordable for our large group!

Noodles not cooked all the way. I asked for no peas in my pasta bowl. Waiters rolled her eyes at me.

Okay, now this is CRAZY!
For Veterans Day, I came in for the free Meatball and Spaghetti and it was FABULOUS!
So a couple weeks later, I am in the mood for Italian and I want to show my appreciation for the previous free meal and decided to come back here for dinner!
So I am seated and my lovely server Giovonna asks me have I been here before and do I know about the Shared Portion sizes!
I smile and say yes, and I told her I am hungry and I can eat a lot!
She leaves me the menu --- and I am FLABBERGASTED to say the least!
Three (3) meatballs and spaghetti are a WHOOPING $39.99 and a basket of bread is $19.99!
Luckily, I only ordered water to drink, and when Gio came back, I apologized to her because I am NOT paying $60 --- minus tax and tip just for me!
She then tells me, if I go to the bar --- I can order the lunch menu there and get out for about $20!
I decline, because the last thing I want is a drunken slob bloviating mistruths when my only desire is to have a nice, quiet sit down meal in an Italian-styled atmosphere!
I left a two-dollar tip and bounced!
So --- Morale of the Story:
SINGLE DINERS . . . beware!

The server was very attentive, the dining room was quiet so we could hear each other talk. Food was tasty but a little expensive for the total amount of food. Would go back any time

Food and service were good. Thanks to all the workers on Thanksgiving day.

Booked weeks in advance for Thanksgiving meal at 4:45 pm to be told they ran out of turkey, but later told that they had absolutely nothing left of Thanksgiving food. WE ONLY BOOKED FOR THANKSGIVING FOOD. We were also seated in the bar area with a 4 year old and were told it was the table on rotation, but we spent an hour with not one single family party seated in the bar except an adult couple and all the staff and servers meeting and talking. Pasta sauces had no flavor, overcharged for drinks we did not order, just an overall horrible experience. Stomach aches all night too.
