This place does not deserve the 4.5 stars rating found in GoogleMap. Absolutely not based on the two dishes we had this day. I don't expect otherwise with other dishes, based on the taste and quality of the side dishes. They seem all faux Korean food...
Sul Lung Tang's soup base is supposed to be made by extensively boiling various bones of cattle that results in gelatin-like (when cooled) white broth. Theirs was white but did not end up being gelatin-like texture when the leftover was brought home and placed in the refrigerator. I suspect that they likely achieve the white broth by adding some powder or creamer to make it look white but lacking the deep flavor that comes from that produced in its true manner.
The other dish was Spicy Pollack soup. It was quite bad - very fishy tasting broth (lower quality and not fresh fish?), rather hard fish meat (frozen or over ooked?) of quite limited quantity, and limited amount of other ingredients (vegetables and tofu). In addition, it was missing a key ingredient for such a soup, tasty innards! If they are out of some ingredients, they should inform the customer and have them make a decision beforehand rather than gloss over and cover up...
Side dishes - only the radish kimchi and the potato were reasonable... the rest, tasteless...
Service was relatively poor also. We had to get up and go to where the kitchin was visible to get attention...
In this day and age of K-food, I feel that this place is giving a bad impression and disservice to K-food. It was a total waste of money. Obviously, we are not returning here!

A few years ago I ate here (ordered Gamja Tang) and got some of the most severe food poisoning I ever had in my life. It was apme of the worst I ever had. I was sick like a dog for almost a week and thought I would die with vomiting and some of the worst diarrhea imaginable.
The food poisoning was so severe I had really high fever fever and I was bed stuck for almost a week.
I talked to my Mum (who is an experienced chef) and she mentioned that that happens when a restaurant serves old/expired meat. So instead of throwing the meat away, bc the owners of this place were so cheap, they served me spoiled meat.
As such, they served me a Gamja Tang soup that was literally poisoned with bacteria. Worst place ever. Never going here again and I would not recommend anyone to go there.

Kind of a hidden hole in the wall spot a bit off of the main Garden Grove Koreatown strip.
Good set of 반찬 (side dishes) and the portions were large. I ordered the 갈비탕 (rib soup) and it had large pieces of meat that fell off the bone.

Yukgaejang is so delicious and the basic side dishes are great.
The working mothers are really friendly, so it's a place where I have a pleasant meal every time I go!

Turned me away immediately because I am not Korean. There was plenty of tables for just 2. Whatever.

This place is definitely hole in the wall but definitely a staple to Korean food in Garden Grove. Most of their dishes are good so try them all. My go to spot for Korean food.

Delicious food with great flavors and sauces. The hostess was nice and provided great food suggestions. You are served VERY large portions. All side dishes were tasty, especially the kimchi.

I got the short rib soup and it came out pretty fast. The soup was good but I wasn't a big fan of the banchans. The people working there were nice and I would come back to try other menus. Don't expect too much for the banchans though. The place isn't too big but enough space available.
