After having dinner, I searched the nearest ice cream/dessert place and Hug life popped up with great reviews. We immediately drove over. It was quiet when we arrived and started looking at the menu and variety of ice creams. The worker was kind to give us samples. Nice modern tables & chairs. What stood out the most was Tupac painting on the wall, it was so beautiful. My friend opted for the Vietnamese coffee, I opted for the rocky road, my kid got the vanilla bean and my mother had the honey dew dew. The Vietnamese coffee was pretty decent out of all the flavors we choose. If you're into natural, anti diary and planet based ice cream; this spot is for you.

Horrible compared to the other 2 locations. Cookies here were OLD and had minimal chocolate chips tasted less than fair. Reeses pieces ice cream was also not the same as the other locations. TOTALLY BUMMED Area isn't good so eating in the car was not pleasant

The 5 of us didn't like the 3 ice cream flavors we tried. They were very icy and at $6 a scoop it was disappointing. Sadly wouldn't recommend

So let me start by saying this is a vegan ice cream place. That means the prices are going to be higher than your standard ice cream place by principle. That said, this place is my guilty pleasure due to my lactose intolerance. It's nice not having to worry about that. I've been here maybe 10+ times, they have a selection of about 12 ice creams (remembering from memory), they're a combination of unique flavors and the standards for picky kids. On top of that you can choose a topping (like sprinkles, Oreo crumble, Cinnamon Toast Crunch) and drizzle (like chocolate sauce, caramel, or some other thing that I don't care about because who wouldn't choose caramel?). The location is cute, I've used this place countless times to wind down after a date, and the service has been kind every time. In summary, it's a little more expensive than chains but it's more ethical and just as tasty, plus a little homey. I try to get away from it due to its price but I keep coming back for that dang cookie sandwich with cookie butter ice cream (yes double cookie sue me) with caramel drizzle and shortbread crumble...

My whole family and I have been eating vegan ice cream here for years. I always get the rocky road flavor and it never fails to satisfy me. They're considerate enough to clean the scoops every time they need to scoop a new flavor. I've been here even when it's packed and lines are out the door, but they are on it and help everyone as quick as they can! The ambiance is so cute and clean, it's a nice little environment and a cute date spot!

I didn't want to leave a bad review, but the girl working Wednesday night (1/31) had the nastiest attitude. Not sure if she was having a bad day or because we came an hour before closing, but I've never felt more unwelcomed at an establishment. We ordered two simple scoops of rocky road & mint n chip-- both of which came out to be the tiniest scoops for $6... what??? We didn't ask for much.. in fact we simply got our ice cream & left but the entire interaction, the worker kept rolling her eyes at us. We even left a cash tip because my boyfriend & I work in the service industry-- not a single thank you for providing business or leaving a tip behind. To make things worse, the ice cream was extremely underwhelming. Normally I am an ice cream fanatic but I couldn't bring myself to eating more than a few bites. The texture was similar to sherbet, but the rocky road missed every single flavor. My ice cream ended up melting before I even got to the car.

As a long time patron of the Orange location, my family and I were very sad to see it go. We've been to this location twice since it's a little out of the way from our home, and I'm not sure we'll be back. While the ice cream is still great, we were used to seeing (mostly) smiling faces at the Orange location. The girl who scooped our ice cream tonight made me want to turn around and walk out. Her face said "I'd rather be doing anything other than serving you ice cream," and the only time she spoke was when she charged me. Even my kids (6 and 10) were like wow mom what's her problem?! Disappointing experience.

Being a vegan ice cream shop has its drawbacks, but it also has its perks. I liked their mint chocolate flavor. Even though it was vegan, it still tasted amazing. Oh, you also have to pay 50 cents extra to split a single scoop.

My car broke down last weekend on our way here with our kids at night so we were not stoked to be stuck in this dark parking lot of Garden Grove but we made the best of it by going inside and getting delicious vegan treats. Tensions were high though lol I got a single scoop of Rocky Road, my daughter got a single kids scoop of Birthday Cake and my husband got the ReTwixed Shake. And then we all shared with the baby boy. We were huge fans of the Orange location that had super cool vibes with lots of art and decor and trinkets for sale. This location is very empty but carries the same flavors of ice cream so all is well. The car started when we left so we jammed home and finished our ice cream and all was right in the world again. Sorry to the girl working the counter for our stress induced standing eating lol

Profoundly disappointing dairy-free ice cream. As an enjoyer of ice cream, both dairy free and dairy unfree, I expected some fairly gourmet fare from a physical ice cream retailer. Alas, every flavor I tried was a disappointment. The taste is fine, the texture is abysmal. Rough, icy, mush. I know dairy free ice cream can be good because Ben and Jerry’s dairy free exists. But this falls short of even the cheapest ice cream I’ve eaten.

Solid hole in the wall with minimal seating the delivers the best ice cream chain in California. I had the Vietnamese Coffee with vanilla in a rootbeer float. It was amazing. They have brownies and cookies for cool combos as well.
