It's a seolleongtang restaurant, but the gamjatang is more delicious.

We are not Korean, so this review does not comment on the authenticity but the favor only. The food was SO GOOD!We got the pork bone casserole (large) and the pork hock. The bone casserole (large) came with 10-12 pieces of giant bones, and each had a good amount of meat. For a girl, 2 bones will fill one up. For a guy, maybe 3-4 with a bit of rice will definitely fill one up. The three of us finished maybe 2/3 of the pot.The pork hock is my favorite! I enjoyed the bean sauce and the slices of meat and tendons. This dish is definitely for more adventurous eats. Still recommended for anyone to try.A feast for three came to be around $130. Not the cheapest but the food was very delicious!

While traveling in the US, I went to have dinner with my family. The food was okay, but the Korean lady serving us was unfriendly. I came in late because I had to park, but I think the kids were a little hurt by him. Even though a few days have passed, they still ask me to leave a comment. The landlady was kind.

The beef rib soup was almost spot on. Take out they missed a few items. Makes one think twice if it was a mistake. The one on Orangethorpe is the best. We'll have to try it again and give you another review. UPDATE: I frequent a lot of different restaurants and really enjoy the food I order either dining in or take out. Going home enjoying great food like I was at the Restaurant. Missing small items like utensils, Napkins, green onions makes our meal less enjoyable. The beef ribs was not. I hope you just keep your food and service above 5 stars. We'll all be back all the time!
Delicious Korean soup on a rainy night? Count me in!I stopped by tonight for dinner with a friend after craving some soup since it was raining all day and Jong Ro hit the spot!It wasn't crazy packed when we arrived and we were able to get a table right away. We looked over the menu for a few minute and after ordering, we only waited about 5-10 minutes before our food and banchan were brought out to us.I got the soft tofu soup with pork and kimchi and it was comforting and flavorful. It was a great portion and there was plenty of tofu, kimchi and pork inside. The banchan was all fresh and the pork in the soup was soft and tender. Service was also good here with the staff checking on tables often and no one was being rude.Overall, it was a good dining experience and I look forward to coming back again soon for more delicious soup and especially on rainy days!

Jong Ro is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Garden Grove, and my recent experience here left me with an insatiable craving for more. The star of the show? The Pork Back-Bone Soup that redefined comfort food for me.The Pork Back-Bone Soup, a traditional Korean delicacy, was an absolute revelation. The broth was rich and hearty, infused with the perfect blend of spices that danced on my taste buds. The tender pork pieces fell off the bone, and the medley of vegetables provided a delightful crunch in every spoonful. The staff's friendliness and attentiveness added a layer of hospitality that elevated the overall atmosphere. The staff was not only knowledgeable about the menu but also eager to share their insights into Korean cuisine, making the dining experience educational and enjoyable.

I would give Jong Ro Shul Lung Tang a solid 3.5/5. Plenty of parking in the strip mall where the restaurant is located at the end of the corner. We went at around 4pm so it wasn't busy at all with a shift change. Service was friendly but not as attentive as I would have liked. We ordered the $50 ultimate meat feast soup which came with oxtail, rib bone, brisket, tongue, tripe and tendon. Definitely for the price and size it is meant to be shared for at least 2 people. The soup had a lot of meat which we appreciated however we personally felt the flavors could have been stronger. They also gave us four banchan which were flavorful and delicious, all spicy. Our last dish we ordered was the spicy pork sizzling plate for $21 which was good.

This is the spot with healing potions aka their soups will cure all modern ailments... well, hangovers, colds, and the nagging cravings after binging a kdrama when you should have been doing something far more productive with your time. I bring an extra stomach just for the amount of kimchi I desire to consume. Both the Napa cabbage and radish block kind of kimchi is served, as much as your little probiotic starved heart desires. Be warned! You can't take it to go if you've dined in. You can try negotiating with the aunties, but it's not for the faint of heart. It is included with to go orders though. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a solo lunch date. Self care with a steaming bowl of stamina soup and a bountiful plate of bossam is really underrated.

I just ate here for the first time that I can recall and I’m sort of kicking myself for not trying it sooner. It’s in a two-story strip mall with some other long-time businesses. When you enter the atmosphere is casual and inviting, but not in a sloppy way. Everything seemed neatly arranged. We were greeted warmly and sat before ordering our entrees. When the banchan came out, we were already happy with the options offered. One small request I’d make is for a sprout dish of some sort.I also appreciated that the brought the banchan out ahead of the entrees rather than at the same time. For my entree, I chose the pork and kimchi soft tofu. Wow! It was so good and flavorful and a perfect combination of two of my favorite stews. The portion was large so I have enough to take some home.My dining partner had the spicy pork and it was also delicious. We both commented on how we want to go back to try some other things like the Budae (boot camp) ramen. I’m salivating just thinking about it!Hope you have a good experience as well!Parking: Finding a spot during weekday lunch was no issue.
