The flavor was delicious I could of had another bite but this is the right portion for a meal to fill and enough to have for some dessert. The service was fast and the environment calm and chill.

Located in the rear side of the 99 cents store.Establishment is pretty small but not rundown.Became a full house of patrons as I just came before the lunch rush.Decent bun rieu soup! You get about 7-8 pieces of snail, 3 fried tofu cubes, 2 crab Patties, & 1 piece of cha lua packed with lemon grass.Too bad no blood cubes included in this bowl of soup.Be sure to request mam Tom sauce "fermented shrimp paste" which adds a lot of umami flavor!Parking can be quite tight around the area and also watch out for POT HOLES!

All and all . It s always so delicious and so tasty for everytime i came here for the crab meat vermicell. The crab meat are fresh and real authentic , unlike pho hong hung ( fake and nasty ) . The snails are tender . Their own made steam pork mixed with snails inside roll - really good ! I loved it how they put the tomatoes and tofu to cooked along with the soup . Their services are always quick, fast and very politeful. They place is always clean and very relaxing. Just feel so right at home.

The bun rieu was excellent! Quite a large portion, I couldn’t finish it all! The herbs and veggies (crunchy curly water spinach stems) was excellent. The shop is newly renovated and feels very calm and inviting. The staff were very sweet. Def go here again.

Gather around, my friends, because you won't believe the epic tale I'm about to unfold. Welcome to the Chronicles of Mama Oanh's Kitchen--a place where you'll question not just your menu choices, but your life choices as well. From the get-go, the ambiance screamed "retro thrift store," and not in a cute way. Imagine a setting where even a hipster would say, "This is a bit much."Let's talk hydration. You'd think asking for water was akin to asking for a moon rock based on the icy stare we got. If looks could kill, we'd have been flatlined then and there. Now, the so-called "food." Our Bun Rieu arrived looking like a dish that lost its will to live. Snails? What snails? They must have made a break for it. The broth was so devoid of flavor, you could almost hear it whispering, "Help me."Branching out to other dishes like Banh Canh and Canh Bun was no salvation. It was as if someone had said, "Let's make soup, but let's forget anything that makes it taste good." A culinary tragedy of Shakespearean proportions.Ah, but there was one diamond in the rough, if you could call it that--Corn Milk. The beverage so bizarrely satisfying it almost made you forget the rest of the meal. Almost. In summary, Mama Oanh's Kitchen is the epitome of dining disappointments. It's like a foodie's version of a haunted house--scary, tragic, and ultimately, something you want to escape from as soon as possible. Will I be back? Let's just say I'd sooner attend a seminar on watching paint dry.

I found my new favorite spot for canh bun and bun rieu now. I tried so many places around OC but nowhere nearly as good, this place definitely satisfied my craving. Recommend sua bap as well, it’s so good. Another plus one for a cozy clean atmosphere. Give this place a try!!!

Mama Oanh knows how to excite my taste buds with her Banh Canh & Bun Mắm. Both bowls are on point with flavorings and ingredients. Clean joints, fast and friendly service. Will return to try something else or encore with these two options.
