The chicken dish was super yummy, decent portion and filling, and very cheap for todays food prices. Must try their chicken dipped in their carmelized onion sauce.

Pretty relaxed place with good food. Got the lemon grass chicken with the crispy rice. Overall it was pretty tasty and the serving size was good. I'll be back to try other dishes.

Great food and kind people. A little expensive but it's the spot for Com Gia for sure! Can't go wrong with the sauce.

In case you needed to know, the chicken is now 10.15 as of 5/4/2022. It's not bad but it's not what it used to be. I feel like the box is bigger and they give you more rice but I feel like that's them trying to justify the price increase, plus they grew in an egg. Also, kind of weird but the chicken wing was not attached to the chicken so I wasn't sure if it was refried or what happened there. Idk about this place anymore. They don't even serve any drinks or desserts.

Delicious deep fried Cornish game hen, with a dipping sauce that makes it perfect! The pickled vegetables blend well with meal. The only thing I wish they would change back it the egg. They used to give a little egg thing that was like a quiche, very tasty but now it's just a fried egg which I don't eat.

as always this place is always good! sucks that it's no longer 1.99 but everything has gone up in price since 2000.. I enjoy a good com ga and this always take me back to my high school days for a cheap meal. $10 bucks now but i'll still be coming back.. regardless of the increase in price. no dining in but it's okay, I rather to go than eat inside I always order com ga with extra sauce and then add hella sriracha when I get home cus why not?!?

I ordered the cornish hen (#1) and it was just as amazing when I had it years ago. The price is $10.15 now. I'm giving it 4 stars because I really wanted the thai cocktail (che) but sadly they don't serve drinks anymore because there's a roasting waters right next to them. Still CASH ONLY and NO DINE IN.

Chicken was a little dry but I also want to support grandpa who runs this store. Not indoor open still. Friend and I both got #1 and it was fine / decent but if it was juicier would be 4 stars. I believe it was 9 dollar something which is modestly priced. I guess I'll bump it up to 4 for that and the mom pop shop element. Otherwise it'd be 3. 3.5 makes sense just only on our one sample of one menu item.

Back when I was still a college student living in the Garden Grove area, this place was my go-to for Brunch, Lunch, Dinner, late Dinner, etc. I usually called and made an order before picking up because it would take them a while to prepare the food. With COVID came and everything got crazy, they would only do pick up at the moment, dine-in people would have to wait a bit more. About the food, I always order their #1, which is the Cornish Hen Chicken with Red Rice. We have a similar dish in Vietnam call Com Ga Xoi Mo, and I think they have done a great job replicating that dish with everything they have over here in America. Their chicken was crispy outside, tender and moist inside, along with the special sweet soy sauce that perfectly tight everything together. I paid around $10 per meal, which was a little higher than what I used to pay, but it was still reasonable given the quality and the amount of food they give me. I have never dined in at the restaurant, but with every time I have a pick-up with them, I feel happy with my experience and will always want to return for another delicious meal.

Called in advance to place my pick up order of two #1s, the Cornish hen with red rice, pickled cabbage, and dipping sauce. They're not allowing customers inside the restaurant right now so you pay and pick up at the door. Quick and easy! My total for two Cornish hens was $19.90, which comes out to be $9.15 per meal. Not sure if this is reflected on their latest menu since I just paid, grabbed my food, and left. I grew up eating here as a child back when prices were really 1.99 and even though back then, my favorite dish was the house special crispy fried egg noodle, I've come to learn that the Cornish hen is the real star of the show here. It seems like such a simple dish but the rice is perfect to me. If I could only eat one type of rice for the rest of my life, it may just be this one. The sauce is also super addicting. I have no idea what's in it but it's really freaking oily and tastes amazing. The addition is the egg is fairly new. It adds a bit more to the plate but it doesn't seem like they're consistent with it. One of our eggs was fully cooked while the other was yolky. I personally prefer a yolky egg but it would be nice to know what to expect next time. The chicken itself always has crispy skin which is my favorite part. The breast part can sometimes be dry but the sauce helps a lot. The restaurant itself doesn't appear very clean and everything in it is quite outdated so I wouldn't recommend eating there but it's always a reliable and inexpensive meal.
