The Pho Bac (Northern Flavor) here is very good. The broth has close to perfect aroma and flavor. Their rare beef (thit tai) can be bit chewy so I recommend ordering it slightly chopped (Tai bam). I initially gave this place a 5 star review but brought it down to 4 star due to the inconsistent quality. Some days their pho is truly 5 star (perfect broth and fresh meat) and some days the brisket (Thit chin) can smell stale. Guess this is a problem most Pho places share since they can't just throw away meat that wasn't sold. So I typically order my Pho with just Tai bam because of this. In any case, this place is definitely worth trying out if you're looking for really good Northern broth like what you might find at good Northern pho places in VN.

Generous meat portions with tasty broth. I like the larger flat rice noodle. The basil they serve is super fresh and I like how generous they are with it.

Eggrolls were okay. The Chinese donut was a bit greasy. I would stick to the pho.

The Viet coffee was very good. Coffee was rich and tasty.

Incredible broths, Northern and Southern. Good portions. Night we went they had a packed house with one server running around and three men doing little more than bussing.

I have been to a million pho places here and in other states, and this is BY FAR the BEST pho I have ever had. Northern style, fillet mignon.

Came here with a few friends on a weekend craving some solid Vietnamese noodle soup, and wow, this spot in Garden Grove absolutely delivered. My buddies went for the Southern style #4 and #7 (loaded with all the classic toppings and that richer, slightly sweeter broth vibe), while I stuck to the Northern style #6 – cleaner, more subtle flavors that let the beef and broth really shine through without overwhelming spices.

The broth? Insanely good. Clear, deeply flavorful from hours of simmering (you can tell it’s made with care), and perfectly balanced – not too salty or greasy like some places. The portions are huge, with generous cuts of tender, high-quality beef (they use grass-fed options, which makes a difference). Noodles were spot-on chewy, and the sides (fresh herbs, bean sprouts, lime) were super fresh.

Service was quick and friendly, the place is modern and clean with plenty of seating, and that little complimentary basil plant to take home? Such a cool touch. I’ve tried pho all over OC and beyond, and this is easily my new #1. If you’re in Garden Grove/Little Saigon area, skip the usual spots and hit up Pho Flavor – you won’t regret it. Already planning my next visit!

I had the keto (konjac noodles) pho. To avoid starches, I usually have the rice noodles replaced by extra bean sprouts. This is the first pho restaurant that I found that have non carb noodles. Pho Flavor offers both a South and a North flavor broth. North pho typically has less veggies, so I typically visit South Vietnamese pho restaurants. It was nice to have the north style broth with all the extras. The presentation was nice as they served the pho in a 3 tier bowl. Sauces on top, extras in the middle and broth and meat in the bottom (bowl).

Disappointed the restaurant was full. They don't use a waitlist, despite having a sign say to write your name down. At first I mentioned I want a single table (don't wanna share coughs), waitress said ok just wait a min. After a few mins, she said for a single table I'd have to wait longer. Disappointed, i left, cold and hungry.

We arrived on Saturday evening at 10:35 pm before closing. We sat patiently waiting for our order to be taken. My sister and friend decided to share the pork rib pho, while I asked for chicken pho. The waiter told me they only had beef, so I agreed to the beef pho. The waiter already seemed confused, so I made sure to repeat my beef pho order clearly.

After about 15 minutes, he brought out the “pork ribs,” which turned out to be just 3 small pork ribs with hardly any soup in it and no noodles. We looked at each other in confusion, “ Is this all?” Lol We were shocked, since we assumed “pho” automatically came with noodles. When we asked, he just nodded and said it didn’t.

When I asked about my beef pho, I realized he had never placed my order at all, even though I had repeated it. He then called someone from the kitchen who was extremely rude, claiming the waiter had explained that the ribs were only a side dish and didn’t include noodles yet he wasn’t even the one who took our order. He also told us the kitchen was closed and the soup was already poured out, so they couldn’t make anything else.

This was beyond disrespectful. We arrived before closing, waited patiently, and were met with confusion, poor communication, and rudeness. They clearly don’t know how to take proper orders or treat paying customers.

Never again. There are plenty of other pho spots that actually respect their guests, go there instead.
