First time here, based on high reviews at Yelp. Our friends gathered together for a dinner feast birthday celebration. We had so many delicious dishes! We started with pu pu mixed appetizer platter of ribs, fried wontons, fried shrimp, egg rolls, foil wrapped chicken, etc...very yummy! Then came the sizzling rice soup, fresh Chinese broccoli, duck, beef, lemon chicken, mu shu pork, fried rice, and more. The service was outstanding! The friendly owner was eager to please and made our visit pleasant. Looks like they were busy filling take out orders. Clean and quiet, we enjoyed the warm fellowship/company around the table. Sipping hot tea and singing "happy birthday" (in Eng. and Canto) over a plate of fortune cookies and a lit candle, it really doesn't get any better than this! Thank you, David!

Been going here for almost 30 years and it's still my favorite Chinese restaurant. They make the best chow mein, orange tofu, rice, and wontons...I don't eat meat and they're always happy to accommodate. I love this family and love eating here!

Food was tender and cooked well. Garlic chicken and Mongolian beef. But the sauce had no flavor? I was so confused eating it. I really wanted to like it but it just tastes bland. Really disappointed...

While this place is not aesthetically updated, the service more than makes up for it. The owners run this place and they are the sweetest humans. Open 37 years, their philosophy is that they hope to create happiness for others through their food and service. The man who owns this place is genuine, and kind- which makes a difference. And he shouts out “money back guarantee, call me if you’re not happy” as his take out customers walk out which is the cutest thing to witness. Any amazing local business to support.

Food is AMAAAZING. They don't have honey walnut shrimp HOWEVER, owner recommended the house special shrimp and my God, it's gooood! So is the crispy beef and the ta Chen fried rice. The owner David is super sweet. I come here all the time when I want authentic Chinese food. Definitely come here and experience their food!

Super cute mom and pop Chinese spot. Owners are super friendly and adorable. Service was great. We came here for Valentines Dinner and it was great. We've gotten take out before but we're really glad to dine in! Beef fried rice was my favorite! Definitely going to bring some to my family back home! Will be back soon. Our go to Chinese spot!

Tried this restaurant secondary to community suggestions. Food was only fair. The Grub Hub menu differs from what the restaurant offers. The meal was to contain soup and appetizers. No soup or appetizers came. I called the restaurant I was told I was wrong by a very rude gentleman, he did apologize when I asked him if he was yelling at a customer. I advised him to coordinate with his vendors and not yell at paying customers. I won't recommend or be back. Just saying.

We have been looking for great, authentic Chinese food since Cheng's and Lily Garden in Cypress closed. Ta Chen is a hidden gem. Wish we knew about it sooner. Great food, excellent service!
