You know 5 years ago this place was top notch. We ordered 3 pulled pork sandwiches with fries for 70 dollars. Literally charged me 15 extra dollars for 20 fries with each meal, looks like your cook ate half our meal and what happened to the Texas toast for the sandwich?? Your using run of the mill hamburger buns! I used to tell everyone that would listen about you guys but never again. Utterly disappointing and you should be ashamed of yourselves. P.s. Lucille's is better then what you serve.

I know California isn't exactly known for BBQ..but, how this place has 4.5 stars is puzzling at best.
First, we got there and they brought out 2/3 full sodas, paper cups with no lid. Soda 8, presentation 0. ($4 ea, but unlimited refills.) We almost left, but my son said the place had really good reviews, so we ordered:
Pulled pork nachos
Brisket sandwich w/fries
And 1/2 rack baby back ribs
Pulled pork nachos were the best by far..however the round, basic, store brand chips tasted like cardboard, and were so few that they became soggy in the soupy Costco tasting nacho sauce. $12
Brisket sandwich was horrible. Half of the serving was fat, which may not have been bad except for the fact that you get one slice of a half inch thick, bun sized brisket slice, with bare minimum coleslaw on the top as the only condiment, and they charge you $19 just for the sandwich. Yes folks, you read that right.. $19 for a sandwich that's half fat. One slice of meat and a bun. $19
Baby back ribs..1/2 rack. How do you serve your namesake with the membrane still on it? Who barbecues any kind of ribs and doesn't remove the membrane first? No seasoning. Tender, but not fall off the bone. Tasted like they were made the day before.. and further more confirmed by the customer who came in asking for them and was told they didn't have any..so, definitely not fresh. $24/6 a la carte.
None of the meats were served sauced..it was DIY with two condiment bottles on the table.
Service was good, but there were only 4 ppl in the restaurant, including us..Well, service was good until we were asked for ID in order to use our card. They charge 4% of your total to use a debit or credit card..(you mean you can't afford to cover your merchant charge after charging us $38 for two buns and two slices of meat?)
In total we paid $106..this place is not worth it. Unless you're desperate for mediocre food.. go somewhere else. Very disappointed.

The ribs were amazing, fries even better and onion rings as well. Pulled pork one of the best I have ever had (ribs were still better!). Definitely recommend when visiting this place!

Hands down the best BBQ if OC. The meat is tender, the smoke amazing and the flavor so delicious.
The place is in a shopping center with easy parking.
Very highly recommend this place if you want barbeque.

Felt it was pretty good, chicken with mustard already sauced up was kind of weird. Ribs and brisket were solid. I'd say work on the chicken tho.

The biggest disappointment was the food the brisket came and was so dry I ended up leaving a portion of it.
It might have been the day before brisket that didn't sell and was stored in a hot box the whole time. It was dried out to the point where you needed sauce to get it moist again. That shouldn't be the case with good brisket.
Not once did the server ask if my meal was fine. If you know good barbecue then you would understand.
The mashed potatoes I think are boxed the macaroni and cheese was decent.

It's a hit or miss. I've been here almost 4 times now. I always get the 1 lbs brisket with mac and fries with soda. The soda is always flat. The meat is usually cold. I'm not really sure why. Other times, it's super tough. Like it's supposed to fall apart no? The fries were good the 3/4 times, but today's were almost uncooked and super salty. Also, the mac n cheese is usually too watery (soup like consistency) or super doughy. I really thought I found my favorite BBQ place, but I guess to each other own. However, the staff is nice. I did ask for my plate to be reheated, and they did so. but still wasn't able to finish it. The best thing they have here is definitely the BBQ sauce, I could just drink it to be honest. I'm just really disappointed that it's never consistent. Looks like it's time to find a different place. 🤷
