Maybe I'm not finding the right banh mi spots in SoCal but the ones that I've tried in this region make Bay Area banh mi look like they're on steroids lol. Not very generous with sandwich fixings and the banh mi here in particular have a *very* skimpy amount of fixings. Only a few slivers of pickled radish and carrot? :/ Bread has no crunch to it, which can be a good thing as I know people who prefer to not have their mouth scraped on each baguette bite. On the bright side, the meat, specifically the grilled pork, is seasoned well. I also tried a chicken pate chaud, which has a very succulent chicken filling. Cashier lady was super nice. Overall 3 stars, which is an "okay" rating in my book. Not a banh mi spot that I'd go out of my way for but can see it being a no-fuss one for those living in the neighborhood.

Been trying to try out different banh mi shops all over OC to give smaller shops and different businesses my service. Found this place on Yelp nearby the area we were in. The man who's probably the owner was very nice although he didn't speak much English. He knew enough to take your order though. They have different bakeries on the counter and even a refrigerator full of cold goodies as well. I even saw frozen egg rolls to take home to fry yourself. I ordered 4 special dac biet banh mis at around ~$6.50 each which were decently priced because they're overpriced here in San Diego and very much so in Hawaii at $10 each which I recently got back from vacationing. I also grabbed a bakery item on the counter that looks good. I don't know what it was but it had a salted duck egg on top. I asked the man if it was sweet like a dessert and he said no but I'm not sure if he fully understood me. We ate the banh mi the next day since we always buy to bring back home. After refrigeration and microwaving it was still delicious and the bread was very soft and fluffy and not because it was soggy or anything. I should have taken a photo of the inside of the sandwich I ate but I was too hungry and forgot.

This was my favorite spot for the longest time. Since the new ownership though it's gone downhill. Sandwiches aren't as good as before. Biggest disappointment is the iced Vietnamese coffee. Service isn't good either but they do try. I have hesitated to say but I personally am searching for a new go to spot

Tried this place out for the first time last night based on Yelp's recommendations. I ordered 2 grilled pork banh mi's. Great size and quality for the price. I will be going back to try their lunch items. So far, delicious food. Very friendly staff too.

From the outside, it looks like a small restaurant. You go inside and then it looks like a very small convenience store. I actually paused once I walked inside because I was wondering if it was small liquor store and I entered in the wrong address. But I saw the extensive menu and realized I was indeed in the right place. It is a very small sandwich shop that sells random other snacks, lottery tickets, hair clips, hair bands, hot and frozen egg rolls, ice cream bars, candy bars, potato chips, and various drinks. Very random but their primary items are the sandwiches. The employee spoke barely spoke English but was very nice and did his best to answer my questions. They have a large variety of sandwiches at a very reasonable price. I bought a dozen sandwiches and although I didn't try all of them, for the ones I did try, they were ok. Nothing special or unique about them. For me, it was just a basic banh mi sandwich. The amount of meat inside the sandwiches was ok. The bread was ok. Really nothing set this place apart. Also, they charge you 3.5% service fee if you pay by card, debit or credit regardless of how much you spend. I was not happy about this. IF there is a charge, a lot of places will impose a charge if you don't meet a minimum purchase, but this place didn't do that. Overall, I wouldn't come back here again as it was just a basic sandwich.

VO Sandwiches hits the mark with their bánh mì đặc biệt! I was blown away by the freshness and crispiness of the bread. It was warm and inviting, just like the friendly atmosphere of the place. A definite must-visit for anyone craving authentic Vietnamese flavors!

Nice little mom and pop banh mi shop with a bunch of other foods. We ordered 5 sandwiches for our road trip home. I was pleasantly surprised at how soft and light the bread was and the bread really makes the sandwich. The amount of veggie, meat and pate were light but still a good sandwich.

Definitely up there with the best banh mis in OC. Crispy exterior bread with soft interior, and the delicious pickled carrot and daikon complement any protein they offer so incredibly well. Lemongrass beef #16 was really good. Also got the #9 bbq pork which wasnt bad but had a more traditional american bbq taste that i didnt expect. Will definitely be coming back in the future!

Delicious and authentic Vietnamese food. Their bread is outstanding and Banh Mi sandwich is amazing. Fast service and food is cooked to order. Casual ambiance with only one table with four chairs. It's mostly a 'to go' Vietnamese sandwich cafe. Plenty of parking spaces in the back. Cheaper if pay cash as they do charge 3.5% fee for debit or credit card!

I just moved to Garden Grove. I'm so happy to have found Vo Sandwiches I love LOVE their bánh mì đặc biệt. I also ordered bánh mì bò kho, and it was not disappointing. However, I was hoping the portion would be a little bit bigger. The cute little place also sells a variety of drinks and Vietnamese snacks. I got pork pate chau and bánh tráng trộn. Ive been craving bánh tráng trộn for weeks now. I was so happy when I saw that they have them. The ladies provided great service. I highly recommend!! Honestly their bánh mì đặc biệt is probably better than Bánh Mì Chè Cali and THH. Can't wait to come back!

One if my Fav Bahn Mi Spots! Can't say how much i love this spot. Everything is fresh, Bread is crispy yet soft on in side. I always order the Special, all the meats and pate taste fresh and seasoned. I also love that they put maggie seasoning inside too. Bread is warmed and is a large sandwich. Please check out this mom and pop shop out and support small businesses. They have few side parking spots then more in the back. Few tables on side and outside. Service was quick and very friendly.
