I recently visited Yigah in Garden Grove to celebrate a friend's birthday, and the experience was very disappointing. We ordered just three dishes, and while the food was okay (nothing particularly special), the service left a sour taste.

Our server did the bare minimum—she dropped off our food, checked on us maybe twice, and then handed us the check. There was nothing special about the service; it was standard at best. So, I was shocked when she came back mid-conversation to collect the credit card receipt and then had the audacity to confront me about not leaving a tip. I politely explained that I don't tip. She pressed further, asking if I was planning to tip in cash, and when I said no, she questioned whether her service was bad. I made it clear that her service wasn't the issue—I simply do not tip. She stormed off visibly upset, making the entire situation unnecessarily awkward in front of my friend.

I was appalled by the entitlement. What exactly is she expecting extra pay for? Dropping off food and checking on us twice? That's literally her job, and she didn't go above and beyond in any way. Being confronted about tipping was rude, unprofessional, and completely inappropriate.

This kind of behavior is unacceptable, and it ruined what should have been an enjoyable meal. I won’t be coming back, and I suggest avoiding this place if you don’t want to be pressured into tipping for subpar service.

I got their Sulleongtang and their Octopus bibimbap.

1. Their soup was so bland, I make bone broth at home, and this tasted like they mixed a bunch of water, so that the broth is diluted and tasteless. Also the brisket was the toughest brisket I've had in a sulleongtang.
2. The bibimbap sauce tasted sour instead of sweet and spicy.

Didn't taste good or authentic, would not recommend.

I liked that this place looks clean but the mosaic was too loud for me.
Food is just really nothing special. One lady was very kind and others were not.

Really great food truly, and bright and clean atmosphere. They make their fried food well as it is crispy and fresh like their chicken, tonkatsu and seafood pancake. They are braised beef is incredibly tender and flavorful without being overly anything. Get their combo menu item which is about $130 and in my opinion that feeds more than 5-7 people.

But unfortunately, the service was lacking and rude at least for my table. We had to wait a long time and flagged the workers down multiple times for anything. Meanwhile, other tables got their food immediately and barely seem to have any wait.

Food is not good, can’t even compared to the food I got at the food court at Ariang supermarket. And it’s very expensive for the tiny portion we get. Avoid coming here and check out other small businesses Korean restaurants on the same street. Very disappointed. Either the 5-star reviews are fake/paid or they seriously messed up today.

I visited during lunch time and had spicy pork combo (about $20), and the portion is great! My husband ordered a cold noodle(물냉면) & dumpling combo (about $25). Spicy pork was a bit salty for me, but i assume most people would like it (as i prefer to make my own food less salty and greasy at home.) Overall it was great. Love their dumpling, and cold noodles. I wish they offer mode side dishes though. They only have two kinds of kimchi (배추김치 & 깍두기) and steamed cabbage.

We ordered the spicy pork galbi and the two other entrees. They were all great tasting. They should reduce the noodles to half of its amount and make it an additional $3 instead of 6.We ordered Seollongtang, but it was a disaster. Soup was so fake. The Japanese style Katsu was amazing!! ? so good.Space was nice and clean. Staffs were very nice and served us with care.

We ordered the octopus bibimbap, spicy beef noodles, and tripes/intestines soup. All the dishes were delicious. The restaurant was quite busy, but our food came out fast. Our server was very nice and friendly. The only downside is that they don't have a lot of options for the side dishes. I will come back again to try other menu options.

The most underwhelming Korean food I’ve ever had :( I got the spicy vegetable beef noodle soup. Kimchi had no flavor neither did the soup. Very disappointed

When you think of Garden Grove, you usually think of Vietnamese food or at least that what I do. I would have never thought to drive down to Garden Grove for some bomb Korean food, let alone 매운 갈비찜 (Spicy Braised Beef Ribs). Yigah does their signature dish particularly special and different from other restaurants that specializes in this dish, especially the ones in K-town. My friend and I ordered their regular spicy with cheese and rice cake and it was hands down the best braised beef ribs I've had in SoCal. The meat literally falls off the bone when you pick at it and we both let it marinate some more in the sauce once we took the bones out. The sauce was addicting and we devoured it with the rice we had on the side. When the servers bring in out, you get to watch a little fire show that they demonstrate with their force to melt the cheese and that's always a sight to watch. As for the bossam, the meat was nice and tender and I liked how it was kept warm by a candle on the bottom of the metal dish they used. However, since both my friend and I focused on the braised beef ribs, we neglected the bossam the entire time and didn't each much of it. Overall, we did enjoy our meal here, in particular the spicy braised beef ribs and would come here again. Definitely come check out Yigah if you're in the area or you want to try out a new Korean restaurant in the OC!
