Great place for Japanese style pasta. Also love their seafood pilaf, best pilaf you can find in town. Here has been our to go place since 10 years ago when we moved to South Bay, food quality has been consistently at top.

Always love coming to eat here. Many of the dishes are spaghettis with various sauces and additions. They also have curry and a few other things, as well as combos that have a little of everything. The best time to come is in the middle of the week, as Friday and weekends will definitely have a wait time. During the week there's either no wait or a 10-15 min wait if you avoid the lunch and dinner rush. On Friday and weekends we have waited 45mins to an hour and that was with arriving just a few minutes after opening. Either way the food is worth it.

The taste and atmosphere are the same as before and it's comfortable, but the woman taking orders puts a lot of pressure on us, as if they need to raise the price per customer. I wanted to enjoy the drinks and food, but I ordered the main course first and they served it all together, so it got cold. It's a shame that it won't taste as good.
I was a little disappointed because I wanted to enjoy good food and wine for the first time in a while, but I guess times have changed with covid19.

Akane Chaya in Gardena is a great spot for Japanese-style Western food, especially if you like pasta and hamburg steak. Their cream spaghetti is amazing—super rich and flavorful, with perfectly cooked noodles that have just the right texture. It’s one of the best cream sauces I’ve had in awhile.
The hamburg steak is also solid, cooked well and juicy, with a nice balance of flavors. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere, and the service is friendly. If you’re craving Yoshoku-style food, this place is definitely worth a visit!

Arrived on a Saturday for dinner at 7PM and were promptly greeted and seated without a wait. Almost all of the tables in the restaurant had patrons. Our server took out order quickly after being seated.
5/5 9oz hamburger steak with Akane demi glace sauce. The hamburger steak was juicy, flavorful, well seasoned, and very delicious with rice.
3/5 C combination with Akane tonkatsu and meat sauce spaghetti. The tonkatsu was on the tough and chewy side. The meat sauce spaghetti tasted too much of wine in the sauce which is not my preference for bolognese. Some other may enjoy it though.
Would come back for the hamburger steak but will probably skip the tonkatsu and order a different pasta next time. Service was great and so was the ambiance.

This is nice unique spot that offers a fusion of Japanese Italian and other more standard Japanese restaurants options like katsu, hamburg steak and curry. The portions are plentiful, the service is decent and it's got a classy feel inside. I tend to go for the cream sauce style pastas since I rarely have those and this spot does a good job of them. Also, I might add either the hamburg steak, katsu or curry. I think most of the time I get the katsu because katsu is awesome and they do a decent job here.
Parking: Parking is great since it's part of the Pacific Market plaza. Getting in/out is easy because it's off of Redondo Beach Blvd. Alternatively, you could use the back entrance too (which is what I do) to avoid the more crowded parts of the parking.

Akane Chaya is a gem. They specialize in Japanese Italian cuisine with mostly spaghetti on the menu with some pilaf/rice options too. The food is delish! I love that it comes with warm bread roll and salad.

First time here. I had the Uni Shrimp Kinoko Soy Based Cream Pasta. My wife got the Seafood Cream Sauce Spaghetti.
I was served the bread and salad first. The bread was warm and tasty. The salad was good with Japanese dressing.
The Uni Shrimp pasta was creamy and delicious, with a distinctly Japanese Seafood flavor. I need to remember to ask to hold the shiso as that is not a favorite flavor for me. But it was delicious nonetheless
My wife took hers to go, but it smelled wonderful. I am definitely coming back to try some of their other entrees.

Extremely good food! The concept of japanese italian seemed a bit cheesy, but everything I tried was rich in flavor, and definitely its own unique thing. The seafood is incredibly fresh, and prices are good for the amount of food you get. I really loved the seafood pasta with the creamy sauce.
