The food is interesting considering it's pasta but a bit of a twist to it. Definitely recommend if you're open to trying a Japanese infused pasta. The inside is a nice mellow cute cozy atmosphere.

Great Japanese bistro style Gardena restaurant in the Pacific Square shopping center that serves up Japanese Wafu style Hamburger steaks, Katsu, pilaf, and some good pasta dishes. Friend took me here since hes been going here for over 20 plus years and I was very impressed. Ordered the Kinoko (mushroom) Hamburger Steak with Demiglas Sauce which was tender and tasty, friends had Carbonara pasta with bacon and Seafood Pilaf. Dinner also came with bread and salad or soup, a filling meal. Would highly recommend, friendly service and great food??Parking: Lots of parking in front

Go Big or Go Home and order the SUPER COMBO!I recommend combination B and D. Both combo includes the asari kinoko cream spaghetti (chopped clams, white and king mushrooms in cream sauce) and your choice of hamburger steak in demi-glace sauce (combo B) or 3 pieces of pork cutlet (combo D) plus soup, salad, potato salad and curry rice. The pasta had generous amounts of clams and mushrooms in a light cream sauce. The hamburger steak was tender and juicy and the pork cutlet was crispy and tender. The curry was good too.Food is made to order so please be patient. It is worth the wait.Go before noon and drinks are included with your meal.Friendly service and there's plenty of parking in the lot.

We came here for lunch on a Saturday and it was already busy right when it opened at 11:30pm. There were plenty of parking spots in front. We waited for 15 mins before we were sat. The place looks kinda old school. Nothing too fancy. The service was slow, but in their defense, the two servers working there seemed very busy. They were apologetic about the slow service. My rating is primarily for the food. It's good, but not great. It tasted like a home cooked meal that my mom would make. So I guess this would be a great alternative if you're too lazy to cook. The spaghetti was cooked perfectly but the flavors in everything was mid. They offered free ice tea or ice coffee before noon? which was nice.

I love their vongole (clam) pasta and bread here. The waiters were polite and friendly.A nice Japanese-style western dish restaurant.

Akanae Chaya is a Japanese restaurant in Gardena that offers a variety of Japanese "Yoshoku" style pasta, curry, hamburg steak plates and more. I am a sucker for Japanese cod roe pasta hehehe. Akane Chaya was so good and I loved their version of it. Make sure to try their Japanese cod roe and Uni pasta! You won't regret your choices!A few of the items we got:- Seafood Cream Sauce Pasta- Tarako Kinoko Ika - Akane Style- Uni Shrimp Kinoko Soy Based Cream Sauce- Beef CurryThe restaurant was small and cozy. And the service is super polite and attentive.Instagram: @jessgoeat

I love hamburger steak, so when I found a restaurant that serves hamburger steak, I was so excited to try it.This place is located in a huge strip mall, and it was easy to find. The parking was convenient as well. The server was friendly and attentive. Without even asking, she came by and refilled my iced tea.I ordered the combo with hamburger steak, meat sauce pasta, and a salad. However, I was underwhelmed. The steak was tender but lacked flavor and needed more sauce. The side meat pasta was on the sweet side. The salad dressing was just alright.Overall, the food was fine but nothing spectacular.

If you're wondering what to eat in the South Bay tonight, go to Akane Chaya!PROS: Beautiful ambience, delicious food, excellent service, and they play delightful jazz music!CONS: Prices may seem a bit high but pastas come with salad and bread, and the quality is worth it in my opinion. This is my favorite place for Japanese spaghetti. If you're not into pasta they also have classics like hamburg steak, cutlets, and curry. I've been coming here for 20+ years and the food never disappoints. I love their wide selection of pastas and the corn potato soup is amazing. The service has always been courteous, and the restaurant has a classy vibe with reasonably priced food. The drink menu is small but has all the necessities. I really enjoyed the Yuzu Liqueur which was light and refreshing like lemonade. Highly recommend!!! To all the Yelp users out there, please support Akane Chaya so I can continue to enjoy it for years to come. ;)
