Delightfully old school place for a Japanese set meal or soba. They're at a corner of the plaza that lets them have some covered outdoor dining as well, which compliments the well-kept, homey interior.

Menu is extensive, lots of sets, the soba is solid, and the beef is actually pretty decent quality.

They won't dazzle with flash or impress high rollers, but Fukugawa is a local classic for a reason.

Teriyaki Teishoku sauce too salty, over all ok. Price a little high. Total included tips about $30.

Japanese comfort food. I enjoyed the atmosphere. I ordered the salmon it was very salty could not taste the salmon. As long as they focus on quality this could be a great place to enjoy Japanese comfort food. The okonomiyaki didn't seem freshly made. It seemed packaged frozen. My advice to management and chef focus on quality and freshness and this can be a great place for Japanese comfort food.

Great blue-collar Japanese shokudo. Tempura is very good.

We go here often and this time was no different. Had the chicken katsu combo, always great. Friend had tempura soba which she said tasted just like a restaurant in Tokyo.

Arrived at 6, told it wasn't happy hour despite the menu stating it's until 6:30. Fine. Took a long time to take an order, maybe 20 minutes after being seated. Pork katsu curry arrived and the cutlet was at most 3 strips of 1oz pork each. The plate was a thin veneer of gummy rice and dry, shredded cabbage. Curry sauce was watered down and mediocre. The miso soup tasted like instant packaged stuff from the market next door. Honestly, just looking at the plate, any self-respecting chef would never let it leave the kitchen. Overall obscenely overpriced.

Great place for Japanese set meals! The 3 of us accidentally ordered 4 sets (we thought Vegan Combo was some kind of appetizer mix) so we spent a little more among us and got really full.

Clean and quite environment, good selection of manga books for the waiting time- Great portions and quality overall.

Quint Japanese restaurant that’s been there forever, hidden in the Southeast corner of a strip mall. If you weren’t looking for this restaurant, you’d miss it.
The katsu jyuu (pork cutlet covered with scrambled egg and oinion) combo is their Monday special (different Mon-Fri). Comes with either hot/cold soba or udon. Very tasty and flavorful. Worth a try.

Went for lunch. I ordered Tenju and Soboroju. Tenju seems to be made by dipping the ingredients in sauce and frying them, so it's just tempura on top of tasteless white rice. The tempura doesn't have the slightest taste of sauce, just a little bit of flavor. When I asked my question, I was served with tempura sauce. That's over $25 in tip and tax! The minced meat was even worse, the beef meat was lumpy and hard, boiled down with soy sauce and sugar? taste. It was so spicy that I couldn't tell if it was the chemical seasoning or the soy sauce, and it numbed my tongue. The egg is just a big lump on top. This is also over $20! Even in LA 30 years ago and Japanese food, I have never encountered anything this bad! I was beyond angry and was shocked and saddened by the playful taste! The waitress never came even when the tea was empty, she asked if she would get a refill of tea when she paid, and the minimum tip percentage was 18%. She made fun of the customers too much!

Had the teriyaki eel with egg and rice, and the mackerel special combo and they were very poor quality. A little piece of mackerel overly salty, cold and dry. The teriyaki eal with egg was inundated with a super sweet teriyaki and there was barely any eel - mostly skin. The miso soup was cold and super salty. So we ended up paying $55 for a bucket of rice and tons of added artificial flavors without any protein. Not sure where this place gets the high rating. We are not coming back.
