I was thrilled to discover this restaurant, especially after all the Korean sashimi spots in South Bay closed down. I’ve visited multiple times and sampled a variety of dishes—including my absolute favorite, the halibut sashimi. Every dish I’ve tried has been packed with quality flavor, making it hard to choose just one favorite.
They specialize in Korean traditional comfort food, and it’s a treat to explore the different offerings. The owners—a husband and wife duo—cook and serve everything themselves, creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere that feels like visiting family. They genuinely enjoy chatting with customers and always make sure you’re satisfied.
The halibut sashimi stands out not only for its taste but for its freshness—they catch it live from the tank right before serving. The restaurant’s name, “Jagalchi,” is meaningful too: it’s named after the famous fish market in Busan, South Korea, and symbolizes marine life, especially fish.

I had such a wonderful experience at this place! The service was incredibly warm and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The food was absolutely delicious, and the variety of banchan was a delightful touch. I truly felt cared for during my visit, and I can't wait to return. This is definitely a must-try spot!

The banchan's and food we ordered was very good. The portions are sufficient for 2 people. At other Korean restaurants I have tried, they rush you to eat so they can have greater turnover for a table, especially at BBQ places where they dump the entire order of meat on the grill at one time. Although this is not a grill place, their service was very good and I didn't feel pressured to eat and leave as soon as possible.

Of the many korean restaurants my partner and I have visited over the years, we both agree this is the best Korean food we’ve ever had! Banchan are high quality and well seasoned, the owner couple (wife handling front of house, husband as chef) are adorable and welcoming. I’m surprised this place doesn’t have more reviews! This will be THE local spot I’ll bring visiting family members and friends to!

Super yummy! We were in the area and found them through google maps. We were hesitant at first because of the low number of reviews but we couldn’t have been happier. It’s a family-run business, they give you unlimited banchan (side dishes), their portions are big and the food is actually yummy. We got the beef spicy stew and the oxtail brisket stew. Staff are also super friendly and nice. We’ll be back!

The food was delicious! Gukbap is hard to find in the States and the food was on par to what I’ve had in Korea! The sashimi was so fresh and clean! 10/10 reccomend!

The $150 live sashimi course is not worth the price.
