$31 plus tax for three pieces of oxtail. It’s a ripoff.

The turkey burger was breakfast sausage which was unexpected, immediately reminded me of those breakfast corndogs with pancake around frozen breakfast sausage. The garlic fries with it were bland and not really garlic tasting, just a clove cut up on top in various pieces. The mac and cheese and cabbage was pretty good, especially compared to other places, a little bland but good. The eggs were bland, but the bacon and waffles were good. Service was fine.

The food is good. Pricey and the hostess need training. I was standing at the counter for a while before she acknowledged me. She was off doing her thing.

I've been to this restaurant several times and the food, service, and environment is great. A local restaurant with delicious southern comfort foods. I would recommend to friends and family. Worth a visit.

I had the pork chops breakfast
It was great potatoes done right, there was a hint of deliciousness I couldn't quite figure out, probably couldn't get it off the tip of my tongue because I ate it.
Can't wait to come back for some dinner entrees. Looking forward to the oxtail and short rib

Dear Owner. I hope this image ring a bell. The lies people tell.In response to Matthew Soul's reply to my previous review, I want to address the inaccuracies. They claimed that I ate everything, which is false. I did consume the sandwich until the last few bites, despite it being moldy, and I explained this to them “clearly” the poboy was actually good until I saw the mold on the bread. However, we only partially ate the fried chicken. Additionally, we ordered short ribs with three sides, but we didn't eat any of it. Yuck!! We were disgusted.I turned to Google because the owner was refusing to refund me fully. Initially, they only agreed to refund the sandwich with the moldy bread. I informed them that if the bread was moldy, it's likely the other items were expired as well. Consequently, I demanded a full refund, threatening to escalate the issue on Google if necessary. To all reading this, It's important to inspect your food before consuming it, especially when supporting small businesses with little business. The only reason why I choose to support this place is because every time I pass by this establishment, it's always empty, which now raises concerns about the freshness of their food.Good luck if you choose to eat at this place.

Went there today just before closing. Purchased oxtails with candied yams & rice and gravy. Excellent tasting, the gravy was delicious oxtails were falling off the bones and the candied yams were very good also. Did not really like the corn bread dressing. The hostess, Star was very friendly and welcoming. I'm from the Chi and recommend it highly. Price was right also.Looking for good food check Matthews at 2222 W. Rosecran out. They also have delivery. Thanks Star, Mickey

I'm not one to write negative reviews about small black-owned businesses, but I’m just here to remind everyone to always check their food before eating it.Despite finding MOLD on the bread in my catfish po'boy, I'm giving this place a 3-star rating because the customer service was exceptional. Both the waitress and chef were very kind and accommodating.
