Came to Sen Nari on the day outdoor dining reopened. We were so excited to dine out and finally try Sen Nari after driving by a billion times and reading the other reviews on Yelp. The other reviewers weren't lying when they said the fish here is super fresh and high quality. They were also right about it being pretty pricey, but I felt the quality matched the price. The outdoor dining is situation is nice. They have a full barricade from the parking lot and outdoor heaters. We were very comfortable. There were some hiccups related to it being the first day of service. They were out of many things we wanted to order including oysters, clams, and the $80 omakase course which was a huge bummer since I was looking forward to the course, but we ended up with other delicious things. Scallop dynamite $18 - 5 stars. Huge diver scallops in a yummy creamy sauce. Highly recommended. Omakase sushi $45 - 5 stars. Fish quality was awesome and the sushi was so neat and beautiful. Very filling as well. I could order this alone and be happy. Ankimo - 4 star - it was good...for liver. I'm not a huge liver fan but my hubby always gets it and this is not the best or worst I've had. Calamari 3 star - I would skip this one next time. The batter soaked up a lot of oil and it was not my favorite. We made a reservation over the phone and only had to wait a little bit. I would definitely recommend calling ahead because they get busy. The day we went, there was only one server. I'm not sure if that's always the case, but she was excellent. Even though she was handling all the running and bussing by herself, she did a fantastic job and our meal was perfectly paced. If you are looking for a different experience but same quality as Nozomi or Kanpachi, Sen Nari is a safe bet.

Oh my heart! And stomach! Sen Nari Sushi Restaurant i is all around an awesome experience. The hand roll bar is unique and nothing short of excellent quality. I was please with the preset options as well as pricing. It was my first stop on my way in from Scottsdale and I can't wait to make it a regular stop on my LA visits.

our favorite sushi spot around the area! (we've tried pretty much all the sushi places in the area) they have the best uni and many others like maguro, otoro, and salmon sushi! we sometime eat here twice a week because its that good.

Best sushi I've ever had, even better than what I had in Japan! The staff are the greatest and I always come out riding the best post sushi high!

Incredible Chirashi bowl takeaway. I'm excited to try this place when they reopen for dine-in.

My only choice when it comes to authentic sushi experience...and I live 25 miles away from this joint. Look for Koji san. He's the best. You won't regret it.

Sen Nari is a place I hold dear to my heart. It is a small, authentic, homey and lowkey restaurant that is full of funny, friendly, professional and hard working staff that will go extra miles to connect with their customers on a personal level in true Japanese fashion! Taka is our go-to sushi chef but other sushi chefs are also skilled and fun to talk to. They have high quality ingredients and a wide variety of fish for very reasonable price ($45 for 13-piece omakase, which is relatively cheap compared to other traditional sushi restaurants in LA). They also serve lots of less world-wide known, seasonal seafood such as nodoguro, shiroko, firefly squid, etc. However, they won't forcefully promote expensive and rare items. Those who are experienced will find what they can't find elsewhere, while those who simply enjoy sushi once in a while will love the fun atmosphere and authentic experience. Every time I dine here I am immersed in the joyful experience without the need to check my phone, then I leave with peace and a few extra pounds. Really cannot recommend a better place than Sen Nari!

I always look forward to coming here for an omakase, it's such a treat. Saddens me that there are all these negatives reviews about the service, every time I've been here, the staff has been super accommodating and the sushi chefs are so darn nice! The fish has ALWAYS been fresh and i always leave the restaurant with a smile on my face. It's not your typical fancy schmancy trendy sushi spot, but instead it's the good ole traditional vibe you get when you enter the establishment. Definitely recommend giving this place a try! I've always ordered the omakase here so I can't speak for the regular menu items.
