Shin-Sen-Gumi Hakata Ramen - Gardena

I've been coming here for over a decade. The ramen here is fully customizable and they also offer lots of different options. This is great place to come for lunch or dinner. I personally like to come for a late night treat and sit at the counter.

I've been a loyal customer since the first restaurant opened in the 90s but I was very upset with the quality of food served at Shin-Sen-Gumi 2GO - Gardena and also at Shinsengumi Yakitori Gardena recently and had to check out the original restaurant in 3 years coming back from TX.

All Japanese businesses in the area have been suffering through the clientele changes since Toyota moved out to TX and it's been almost upsetting to find a few of my favorite japanese restaurants gone South including Torihei, Matsui and Shinsengumi Yakitori Gardena, And although a few things have been negatively changed last few years, this one's still acceptable.

Too sad...

We have been going here for 25+ years and it is still our favorite ramen. There are many good ramen restaurants in the South Bay but Shinsengumi Hakata Ramen remains the one to which we return. Try it, you won’t be disappointed.

I had such an amazing experience here the other day! The service was phenomenal, the guys in there are sooo friendly and you can tell their genuinely enjoy their work. Great atmosphere and the ramen was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!!

This is a go to spot. The earlier the better since it’s popular. Service is always good. Very welcoming. Music is a vibe. Their food and lunch specials are amazing, can’t beat the price.

I've been here many times over the years. But it's been a minute since I last came. We've been going to the Shin Sen Gumi To Go more lately. However I'm glad we came. The experience reminded me why I love this place. We came during lunch and I was able to get a combo with gyoza. I love the gyoza. Another side I like here is the Nanban Chicken Karaage. But the ramen is the reason we come. You can adjust the noodle firmness and soup base strength and oil amount. Something you can't do at the to go location.

Visited this place after moving back to the LA area... the decor and tables remain the same as before. The ramen noodles continue to be made with care. Love the quick service and custom order of noodle firmness and broth strength.

This place is hands down the best ramen place there is, no doubt about it. The service is very good and the staff is exceptionally kind. And man do they let you add a lot of ingredients this place has it all. Always get the classic Hakata ramen with soft eggs, seaweed, and the garlic spice ball. Their sundaes are also so good looking and cute! (Sorry about the image I gobbled up the ramen before I had a chance to take a proper picture)

I don't know what happened to this place. It'a not the Shin-Sen-Gumi I used to know. Not my favorite ramen any longer.

Honestly my favorite ramen place in the LA area. Been coming here for years and has always been high quality food with great service and I've never felt like I was disappointed when coming in for a meal. Will always love this place

Loved going there for lunch on a week day, I can imagine there being a long wait otherwise.

Being able to select the firmness of my noodles was AWESOME. I like it firm and I was able to customize that! The ramen broth was life changing and you can even adjust the saltiness of it too!

Just all around amazing and the bow on top was the fabulous service. Thank you!
