I live just a few blocks from their Santa Monica shop and stumbled upon this gem on a walk. Kimberly and the staff are super friendly and kind to tell you all about the pastries you want! Would reccomend stopping by if you are the area.

We had a great time from start to finish with the Butter End for our wedding cake. They had a cake tasting for us, where we got to sample several different flavors (you really can’t go wrong). They then went through the design with us, and were willing to customize our cake any way we wanted it. When we didn’t have many ideas, they took us through many options and helped us customize it to make a final product we were very excited about. The cake looked beautiful on the day of our wedding, and tasted delicious too! We had no issues and would recommend them without hesitation to anyone.

THANK YOU for the incredible birthday cake you created! The Great Dane-topped cake was most definitely the star of the weekend! Everyone loved it and was astonished at the amazing replica of our goofy blue merle Great Dane and his favorite toys, and the chocolate cake and buttercream icing were so delicious! You definitely "make happy" and, you make magic!

Above and beyond anything we envisioned for our wedding cake design.It came out more gorgeous than expected and was an absolute wow....so much so, it was hard to cut.However, I have to share, this wasn't just a stunning cake but a delicious one as well.An extra special treat were the mini cakes that exactly replicated the big cake in design in every way. I guests delighted at the fact of taking these home in their showcase style acrylic cases!Can't wait to have many happy celebrations and have The Butter End as our artist cake designer to create those extra special memories.

I recently hosted my Mom’s 80th Birthday, and all she requested was a carrot cake. Naturally, the first place that came to mind was The Butter End, and Kim’s famous, and MOST delicious carrot cake! I didn’t have much inspiration, but after a short and meaningful conversation, they were able to completely personify my mom in cake! Bright, beautiful and classic. Our cake was absolutely GORGEOUS! We are so happy we went with the nearly naked look, and the flavors (chocolate chocolate chip & carrot cake) were absolutely delicious. We keep hearing such positive feedback from guests about how amazing the cake was! In fact it was so delicious that my brother and cousins ended up digging into our top layer as a late night snack when they were supposed to be saving it for my husband and me in their hotel refrigerator....Needless to say, the cake was a HUGE hit! TRULY TOP NOTCH IN LA. As a luxury wedding planner between LA & Aspen, I look for vendors of great caliber, that give the absolute most bang for your buck, and The Butter End was such a great find. I have a very high standard for cake and these ladies definitely meet it. I scoured LA and looked at reviews and photos of cakes for my own big party I was throwing, and was so happy when I found them. Their menu is elevated, design wildly accurate to my inspiration pic, and they provide truly incredible customer service. They even tested the custom flavor combo I wanted, and went above in beyond in every way and NAILED the design. And everyone was raving about the marzipan flavor.

Your dream wedding cake is HERE!! Not only is the presentation absolutely perfection but the cake flavors are pure excellence. My best friend hates wedding cake and she ate the whole slice. Amazing team here and a great experience cake tasting. Thank you Butter End!!
