Culichis Urban Kitchen – Flavor Explosion & the BEST Michelada Ever!
This place is next-level! Culichis Urban Kitchen serves up some of the most flavorful and authentic Mexican food I’ve ever had — and trust me, it’s hard to choose just one favorite because everything on the menu is 🔥. From seafood to tacos to sushi-style rolls, every bite is packed with bold, delicious flavor.
And let’s talk about the michelada — hands down the BEST in the world. Perfectly balanced, refreshing, and loaded with all the good stuff. It’s a whole experience on its own!
The vibe inside is fun and modern, the music sets the mood, and the staff is always friendly and fast. Whether you're coming with friends, family, or just to treat yourself — Culichis is a must-visit.
Can’t wait to go back for more!

Am going to give it a 3 because the food this time wasn't what we always get for example the fried calamary was little tiny pieces looks like it was the leftover like i said I have order from here and its good but 9/6/25 was not what I expected.

The ceviche was truly exquisite, with the perfect touch of chili piquín. My husband had the carne asada, and it was cooked and seasoned to perfection. We will definitely be back.

Fun decor and music, reminded me of a favorite place back home! Carne asada plate was great; the asada itself was tender and tasted beautiful, plenty of sides that held their own. Salsa that came with the chips had real flavor, that was nice.

Our waitress tonight (8/20/25) was super friendly and thoughtful—the sun was in our eyes so she kept going out to adjust an umbrella. Wish I had caught her name!

With all that said, prices were pretty high. And the hot cheeto roll was pretty mid…but I don’t know what my wife was expecting.

Food was amazing! Authentic Mexican food from culiacan. Best ceviche and agua chile, micheladas are also great. The location,
Ambience and service is average for a mall restaurant but the food is absolutely fantastic. It exceeded my expectations.

Culichis Urban Kitchen in Gilroy is an absolute gem and easily one of my favorite places to eat in the area. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a vibrant, upbeat atmosphere that sets the tone for an amazing dining experience. Whether you’re coming for lunch, dinner, or just drinks with friends, this place never disappoints.

What truly makes Culichis stand out is their unique blend of authentic Mexican cuisine and top-tier sushi. It might sound like an unexpected combo, but they pull it off perfectly! Their tacos are loaded with flavor, the birria is tender and juicy, and their mariscos (seafood dishes) are incredibly fresh and well-prepared. Then there’s the sushi — wow. You would never expect to find sushi this good in a Mexican kitchen, but it’s seriously on point. Creative rolls, great portions, and everything is plated beautifully.

Now let’s talk about the Michelottas — hands down the best I’ve ever had. They’re LOADED, bursting with flavor, and come with all the extras. It’s the kind of drink you order once and instantly crave again the next day. Pair one with their shrimp ceviche or aguachiles and you’re in for a real treat.

The customer service is another reason I keep coming back. The staff is always welcoming, friendly, and fast. You can tell they care about their customers and go out of their way to make you feel at home. The music, the decor, the overall vibe — everything works together to make it feel like more than just a meal. It’s an experience.

I live in the area and have eaten at a lot of restaurants in Gilroy, and I can confidently say Culichis Urban Kitchen is at the top of my list. It’s a great place to bring family, catch up with friends, or even celebrate a special occasion. The prices are fair, the portions are generous, and the quality is consistent every time.

If you haven’t been here yet, you’re missing out. This place is a hidden treasure in Gilroy and deserves way more attention. Do yourself a favor and check them out — you’ll thank me later!

Exceptionally disappointing. Ordered two rolls for carry-out: salmon roll (with hamachi) and the Culichi roll — one topped with “ceviche.” (Cost: $50 for two rolls.) Once we opened the to-go order, we realized one roll was the wrong roll (they gave us a hot, baked salmon roll covered in soupy cheese sauce). The Culichi roll was soaking in ponzu sauce from a heavy dumping of shrimp and octopus smothered in ponzu. The entire sushi roll was soaking wet and grossly inedible. Wanted to turn around on the highway to return everything but did not have time. Check your to go order carefully & avoid the Culichi roll unless all you want to eat is ponzu sauce.

5 Stars. We love sushi. The rolls we ordered were delicious! We tried the Gilroy roll, Sinoloa Roll & 49er Roll. Great combo. They had a special of buy 3 rolls for the price of two dine-in only.

Love the decor inside. Plenty of seating inside and outdoor seating as well. With outdoor heaters. Tv's inside. Good vibes all around.

We will definately be returning.

I see a lot of good reviews but I don’t see why. I must have high expectations or they are bought reviews over priced food not worth the money. Call me cheap but I had better meals from the flee market lol.
