While working the PM shift I always wanted to get a quick bite before heading home, I came across Santa Cruz Bakery. They open at 3am daily (except Sunday) and the staff is usually friendly. Always stop by for the bolillo con queso y jamón (which was always fresh at the time I went) they also have a great selection of pan dulce, food, and drinks.

Delicious cinnamon heart cookies. First tome here. The cookies melt in your mouth. I should have bought more than two. Definately returning to this bakery. We drove from Watsonville for the day. Saw the bakery while in town. Great service, the lady was very nice.

The remodeling is very nice, but for my taste the bread was very low in quality and flavor, it is as if they changed bakers and the prices were very high compared to the previous ones.I hope you don't take the comment the wrong way and consider it.
