In early March, we toured Benzinger with Byron as our guide, and he was exceptional! With his extensive knowledge and great sense of humor, the tour of the grounds and the wine tasting was truly enjoyable. We're looking forward to returning on our next Sonoma trip. Thank you Byron!

Arbore Sacra Pinot Noir the label that made me feel at home. Well-kept facilities, friendly environment, very pleasant day.

I really enjoyed the tractor tour with the thoughtful blankets!! I learned a lot from our guide and getting to have lunch in the cave was top notch. The wine never stopped pouring!

Beautiful winery. Seemed like a place to be to take a breather and reset when life gets hard. Friendly staff and tour made it fun.My family had a good time.

We came here for a vinery tram tour & wine tasting experience. My two young kids enjoyed the tour and were given grape juice at the end while adults are sipping various kinds of wines. The overall experience was chill and fun! Definitely recommended for those who wants a taste of top notch California wine while traveling with kids.

What can I say about this place. It is fantastic. It is family friendly. We took the tram tour which does include a tasting. Benziger is one of the few biodynamic winerys in the US. Biodynamic wines are sustainable and use the earth to grow as opposed to fertilizer and pesticides. They use plants to attract good insects instead of pesticides. All water waste is recycled back into the ecosystem. They use caves to keep the wine cool instead of refrigeration.

Best wine from Sonoma/Napa area! They run a biodynamic winery which basically means all the resources needed to create their wine is sourced on-site. This wine is so delicious and I've never gotten a headache from it. They do a fun vineyard tour as well that teaches you more about the biodynamic process. Wish I could go more often!

Whenever we have guests visiting from out of town, we almost always book a winery tour. I'm sure we've gone on more than a dozen over the years. We had three requirements this time: near the town of Sonoma where we had a dinner reservation, featuring a "riding tour" since one in our party had mobility issues and including a wine cave portion since our guests had never seen one of those before. Benziger seemed to check off all those boxes. But afterwards, we were left disappointed. We've done cave tastings before with impressive ambiance (think candles, mood lighting and music). This cave visit lasted about two minutes. We basically poked our heads into the industrial entrance of the cave for a quicklecture and that was about it.We've also sat on amazing patios with spectacular, picturesque vineyard views for the actual tasting. This tasting was in a small back room with no windows. It didn't feel special at all (and, at $75 per person, it also felt overpriced). The tram tour was fine, but other similar riding tours in the hills of Sonoma County are way more scenic...and we all agreed the actual wine was just okay. With hundreds of winery options in Sonoma, we won't be back to Benziger. I just feel bad for our guests as they didn't get a chance to see the best Sonoma wine country has to offer.

Called to see if we could do a tasting if we arrived 5 minutes past their tasting cutoff of 4:30pm. While they did call back quickly, the lady said she couldn’t guarantee that she’d even have half the bottles available for tasting if we did get there at 4:30. She was curt and borderline rude about it. We decided not to go which is unfortunate because I’ve bought cases previously but the customer service this time was incredibly poor. Went to a different winery instead and had the best time with the staff and their wine was delicious!

Jam-packed tour with Dr. Bob. He explained the winery's approach to production symbiotic with nature--but in a very low-key and accessible way. He was a great ambassador for the winery and its tradition. The wine was exemplary. Quite the bonus for the first glass to be in the field. Way to go Benzinger!

The wine tour experience with Dr. Bob was our favorite of our entire Napa trip. It was fun, interesting, and the wine was delicious. Thank you for the great tour, Dr. Bob!

My husband and I stopped by Benziger earlier this month on a quick trip to Sonoma - it's about a 20 minute drive from the main town. We are not particularly knowledgable about wineries, but we were looking for somewhere that we could enjoy the beautiful scenery of Napa Valley, and where we did not need an advance reservation. Benziger provided all that and more! We explored the grounds and vineyards on foot and found the property to be so picturesque. After a while we wandered inside the main tasting room and were welcomed in to enjoy an informative, and delicious, wine tasting with Louis. We felt the tasting was very reasonably priced for the area, as well.

Definitely recommend skipping this spot. Beautiful location but all the employees need to take a few classes in hospitality before we think about coming back here. This is the definition of a pretentious winery. They had the opportunity to welcome with engage with people, but instead focus on enforcing arbitrary rules.
