The 10:30am vineyard tour is amazing. We’ve done half a dozen tours/tastings in Sonoma and they’ve all been wonderful, but this was our favorite one. Nancy was an incredible guide. We spent an hour walking the grounds and learned a lot about the grape growing process.
We ended with a tasting where we got to try six different delicious wines. At $40 per person, this is a great value for the tour of the grounds as well as a tasting. The entire experience was about 90 minutes. They also waive the tasting fee if you purchase bottles (they ship to 48 states) and the wines are so good that you’ll want to do that.
We were very impressed by their operations. It’s hard to believe it’s a three people team that run the entire winery! Highly recommend you check this place out.
Their Port is really good.
We came to the Wine county as a part of our California road trip.
We also visited some of the big wineries, but we really liked the personal touch of Loxton’s.
They were great, attentive and knowledgeable people.
Delightful owner and winemaker with tasty wine. We had a wonderful experience at Loxton Winery and you know you are learning from someone who loves his job and his relationships with the growers. We learned a great deal and would highly recommend!
Highly recommend this winery for anyone looking for great wine and a fantastic winemaker all at reasonable price! Chris was funny and delightful to spend an afternoon with.
Taste like they spilled some red wine into a thing of brandy. Not what I want in a port at all.
If you are looking for a cute, family run winery this is the place to go. The owners Chris and Christy are terrific. The wine tastings are affordable, the setting is beautiful and quaint. It is located just off Hwy 12 in Glen Ellen and a great stop when you are wine tasting in Sonoma County.
Had a great experience here!! Chris was incredible and so knowledgeable. The wine was so good. Definitely stop here!!
Of the eight wineries we visited on this trip, Loxton was the best tasting experience hands down. From the second we stepped out of our car, Chris and his wife - who was amazing, so sorry I've forgotten your name! - were lovely hosts. We received both an in-depth tasting experience and just a wonderful conversation in general.
The wines were delicious; our favorites were the Syrah, Cab, and both Port-style wines, but everything was great, and very reasonably priced as well. There's several places to sit outside and soak up the beautiful vineyard and hillside views as well.
We will definitely be back on our next trip!
We had such an incredible time at Loxton Cellars. Chris Loxton gave us an incredible tour and walk around his winery. He is knowledgeable, friendly, and an expert at crafting wine! We can’t wait to return and will certainly recommend this place to anyone we know going to Sonoma.

Fabulous tasting hosted by winemaker Chris Loxton. Clearly detailed the entire winemaking process including showing us the grape vats and barrels. Luckily we were there at harvest time and got a real time look at the complexities of winemaking. Loxton wines are wonderful and it was a remarkable day for all 15 of us! Thank you!
The wine tasting and experience was amazing. We didn't purchase any food; we brought our own lunch. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Best value in the valley.
Chris shared his wine and his stories. A wonderful experience. Highly recommend stopping in.
So wonderful getting to know Chris and learning so much about wine making. His wines are delicious!!
Let me start by saying this was an amazing wine experience. We visited Sonoma a few weeks ago for my birthday. This was our first tour of our stay and it likely made all the others a slight less enjoyable. Chris was phenomenal. He was so knowledgeable. We walked around the property and learned about the land, grapes, neighbors, natural agricultural techniques, and even the animals on the property. To describe this experience as enjoyable, would be an understatement. We would 100% recommend. Thanks, Chris. It was the perfect start to our week. We honestly compared all the rest in Sonoma and Napa to this one.
