The Mill at Glen Ellen

We ate at The Mill in 1994. It has changed a bit since then. Covid caused some changes. It is no longer a white tablecloth restaurant and has more of a pub ambiance. However, the food and service were excellent. We had no complaints. If the weather allows, sit on the patio and watch the hummingbirds.

We had a delicious and wonderful lunch with a good friend. The restaurant was delightful, the service was good, and the food was delicious. The portions were AMPLE, and our glasses were quickly refilled. I plan to return, and have recommended The Mill to locals who have not yet been to the restaurant. I loved that the restaurant was not PACKED for a Saturday lunch, and appreciated the atmosphere, the care and the delicious turkey wrap, 1/2 of which we took home to enjoy the next day. We shared the brussel sprouts, and they, too, were delicious. I will definitely have them again. I highly recommend this restaurant for families and also just for a relaxed meal. There was NO push as we sat with our friend for about 2 hours. I cannot wait to return to try their Burnt Basque Cake....... I bet it will be DELICIOUS.

We drove out to the Mill from Santa Rosa, wanting to try a new restaurant and having read the menu on their website, it looked promising. What a treat we were in for! Absolutely gorgeous setting! Built many years ago as a working mill, they have retained much of the original architecture including a beautiful wood floor. The location is nestled in a verdant hilly landscape that includes a bubbling stream, dozens of beautiful trees and foliage and they have enhanced natures beauty with many potted flowers and plants on a lovely outdoor patio covered with bright table umbrellas. The inside dining room is warm and inviting also, with comfortable padded chairs and linen napkins. My friend and I don't eat much at a meal, so we ordered the Brussels Sprouts, green salad and ended with one of their sumptuous desserts, chocolate raspberry mousse. I am a huge Brussels Sprouts fan, and have tried them in dozens of Sonoma County restaurants, and these were THE BEST I have ever eaten!!! Grilled perfectly and enhanced with bacon, balsamic vinegar and a pile of snow-like Parmesan cheese. Absolutely delicious!!! And the salad of mixed greens and cherry tomatos was dressed with an amazing apple cider thyme vinaigrette that I could have drank from a glass..... yum! The service was also impeccable. Very friendly and attentive staff taking care of us. We will definitely return!

My husband and I have been here several times now for dinner and lunch. Our food has always been fresh and delicious, the staff very friendly, and the ambience welcoming. Recommended!

I stopped at this place for coffee which I suppose used to be there. Now there are two restaurants that are only open for dinner and a winery. The place was semi-deserted when I stopped on a Saturday. It's pretty, but not a lot going on.

They really pay attention to the details with the food. The staff is amazing! Just know that they won't bring the check until they think you are done enjoying the setting, so don't be afraid to ask.

It's great for a relaxing meal anytime, but it's my go-to place for birthday celebrations.

We found this place after a hike at Jack London park, so you can have a casual lunch even though it's great enough for special occasions.

Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options including the fried tofu (one of my favorites).

Parking: The wings are amazing. If you get the wagu burger, be sure to ask for truffle fries.

Wow! This was a a GREAT place to come with family or friends. The menu changes every 2-3 days and frankly, it’s all worth trying. But besides that the staff goes over and above to make you feel welcome and at home. Seriously, it was like you were at a good friend’s house and they were really taking care of you. Every table was happy and feeling it. 5 stars on the food, 5 on the service, 5 in n the atmosphere ❤️

The two of us split a bread (very good), the eggplant tempura (truly incredible), and mushroom congee (I found it excellent, my wife found it very good - she prefers it more bland in keeping with tradition). We had lactose free modifications on everything, which they did with no issue. Wish we had room for dessert! But at least there will definitely be a next time.

This place is great! We walked in without a reservation and they seated us right away. They had so many gluten free and allergy alternatives on the menu. My husband ordered the gf cheeseburger, I ordered the clam chowder, my toddler ordered the kids pasta plate and we all split the crispy tofu appetizer. Everything came out so quickly and tasted great. Highly recommended this place for groups that have mixed dietary needs and tastes. Lots of things to choose from on the menu and the service was fantastic!
