Great place. Can’t believe anyone gave less than a 4.9 rating! Check it out if you are in the area.

We showed up the Saturday after Valentines. We let my girlfriend’s 13 year old son pick a restaurant for our Valentines dinner because we wanted to avoid the crowd on Feb14. He searched for unique restaurants and we actually showed up a few doors down at another establishment that looked closed. Then we spotted Chess Park Lounge. It looked vibrant and he loves chess so we walked in. We were immediately seated just outside the bar area. The interior is beautiful with a slight industrial and yet rich atmosphere. It is an Armenian themed menu I think? So it was unique and different. We ordered a starter of Truffle Dip that sounded familiar and a few drinks. The server brought us our starter but it looked completely different from what we ordered and expected. We assumed it was correct and was just their version of what we had ordered. It was delicious. It was a unique flavored dip made of eggs, tomatoes and who knows what Armenian spices but it was incredibly good. When the server returned I asked what it was and she admitted she brought an entree to us that was supposed to be for another table. Her mistake, our delight. It was so different, odd but but very tasty. At that point I joked and said “I guess just bring me something good for my entree, you can pick it”. So she did. I had the Braised Short Rib. My Girlfriend had the Grilled Bass of some sort and her son had the steak frites. My plate was the best cut of meat I have had in years. It was on par, taste wise, as A5 Wagyu at Gordon Ramsey Steak. It was delicious, tender, seasoned perfectly and a tremendous surprise. We all enjoyed our experience and for desert they played chess at the table. We will definitely return. They had a few hiccups but we are seasoned travelers and we don’t get too uptight with mistakes or shortfalls. Overall this restaurant was awesome and it should be tried if you are in the area.

Horrible service. Took 15 minutes before I was able to flag down a server. We ordered drinks an appetizer and main course. Appetizer and main course arrived together and then the drinks about 5 minutes later. Food was decent but the price of the Cocktails were ridiculous. $19 for an average espresso martini and $23 for an Old Fashion with Bulliet. I live in Las Vegas and those are worse than prices on the Strip. Food was average at best and the service is non-existant. Finally this place calls itself a "lounge" but it's closer to a dive bar.

An amazing spot in Glendale with fantastic choices of food and drinks and great staff who are on top of the customer service! Not only that you’ll also get to enjoy a live and a fantastic band playing a nice selection of pop and rock music over the weekends! We all know live entertainment is not for free in this country!

Great first time experience in this restaurant. I just wish they extended a birthday greeting to my friend and perhaps a small dessert token will be amazing since I paid almost $350 for this dinner celebration with my dear friend.

The food and place was great! The service was subpar. We sat in the patio and had asked if we can move the umbrella a bit closer to allow shade for a mom in our group with her newborn. The server said she would check and never came back to tell us yes or no. We saw her and the manager talking about it but neither of them came to say anything or acknowledge our request. We took it upon ourselves to move the shade to keep the baby safe from the sun. When we asked at the end why they didn't help us, she said the manager said it was already moved. The umbrellas aren't stationary and was already positioned at a weird angle to begin with. It's a minute thing however it was the lack of acknowledgement that we were disappointed in. We enjoyed the food but sadly think we will not be returning because of the lack of service.

I've been to CPL many times in the evenings for dinner and drinks, when they also offer great live music most nights. My favorite place to eat is out on the covered (and heated) patio/bar area where the band plays, the vibe is just so cool. The whole place has a great vibe, in fact, so anywhere you sit will be good, but that outdoor patio is just so cool. As my friend said, very IG-worthy everywhere. They serve great drinks, and even mocktails for those that prefer them. My favorite is one which comes under a glass jar and as you lift it up smoke pours out of it, such a fun presentation! The food is also excellent, I haven't had a thing I've not liked yet. Yes, it's all pricey, but to me it's worth it for the vibe, the beautiful surroundings, the music, and the good food and drinks. Some people have commented on the service, but I love it - they are very European in their manner in that they allow you as the customer to indicate when you need the wait-staff and don't try to rush you or interrupt your conversation (while also still keeping our water and coffee full and making sure we had all we needed). The won't bring the check until you ask for it, and I love that. In Europe it's considered rude to bring a customer the check before they're ready - they don't want you feeling rushed or like they're pushing you out the door. It allows you the chance to just talk and have a relaxed meal. I'd never been there for brunch until yesterday, however, and I am happy to say I was not disappointed. They only serve brunch Fri-Sun, and no live music at that time - but the Mimosas, Lattes, coffee, and brunch menu were all excellent, as was the service. While I've always recommended CPL for dinner and drinks, if you want a great place for a really nice Saturday or Sunday brunch also, definitely check them out. This is my new favorite place to eat (or just have a drink created by their amazing Mixologists at the bar) in Glendale - or really, just about anywhere!

Very nice, cozy restaurant for any occasion, especially to get together with friends and family. Great ambience and food. live band from 6 pm. Great dinner menu, the appetizers are delicious, for main course- tried halibut and sea bass and like it! The orders come pretty fast. Definitely recommend !

The main things that CPL has going for it are the heated patio and live music. The food and drinks are kind of overpriced ($18 for a smash burger, $19 for a cocktail, $9 for BOTTLED WATER), and the food is just okay. Neither bad nor great. However, our server (woman with the short hair and tattoos, gave excellent customer service) and the Armenian Sangria was really good.

The portions and pricing were great. Food was super tasty and indulgent. The space is super inviting but they host too many tables to keep the ambiance to match the decor. I had the truffle pasta it was super rich, my date had the burger and we split the bone marrow appetizer.

Food was excellent. Some of the best tasting food from a restaurant I've had in a long time. Short Rib Papardalle was a standout dish for us. As was the churros and afogato desert. We'll definitely be back.

My new favorite place. Breakfast and dinner are both next level!! I love the live entertainment and the ambiance. The mushroom croquettes are my go to and the lamb chops are cooked perfectly!!
