El Sol Mexican Restaurant

Ordered a take out, arrived within 10 minutes to pick up, was told it would be ready in 15. I live 2 minutes away. Food was cold, chips were stale and didn’t look anything like the menu online. The only good part was the guacamole but with bad chips… what’s the point? It wasn’t worth the 35.00 plus tip, and according to the online menu it should have only been 27 plus tax.
I spoke to Manny and a new order should be delivered. I waited on the new order for an hour, my son went to check on it and it hadn’t even been started. Cannot recommend this place to anyone. Sad, it used to be really good

This place has great salsa and chips in my opinion. Hole in the wall mexican food. My go to dish was the nachos with no beans. I have been ordering it for many years. I was not able to go there for a while and So the other night I wanted some nachos. I ended up going there. I asked for the food just like I normally would only ask for nachos with shrimp. No beans. I asked for the guacamole and sour cream on the side. Like I normally would and then, when the nachos came out the cheese was half melted, it was mozzarella instead of regular Mexican cheese. Like they normally put the tomatoes when they normally would not have that on top. then when I questioned it, the man said well, you haven't been here in a lot of months, so they change the way they make the nachos, unlike if you know that I'm a regular, that's what I normally order. Why don't you tell me that it's changed? I spent way too much money for Some chips salsa and maybe 4 little shrimp chopped up with mozzarella cheese. Never again. I would probably take the salsa to go but I would not order the food again. Disappointed!

Great little Mexican restaurant. El Sol is a very quaint little Mexican restaurant in Montrose California. It's a very small restaurant, authentic Mexican food, delightful owner and staff, amazing service, wonderful all around! If you're going to be in the Crescenta Valley area, please make it a point to stop by El Sol and enjoy their fine Mexican cuisine!!

Small Moma & Poppa Especial! I've gone for a generation or two. That hole in the wall you keep secret. Best Mexican in the entire area. "Small", nice & clean.

I had the southwestern grilled chicken salad, nice and fresh but nothing like the picture shows and describes. My wife got the fajita toastada steak. Not good meat all soggy and not well cooked.

Good was good. Service was good. Nothing was great, slightly overpriced. Dinner was 150 dollars for four, with 4 entrees, one beer, one margarita, no appetizer.
