I was astounded by the appalling customer service at this location. I rarely give one-star reviews (check my profile if you doubt me), but this establishment absolutely deserves the lowest rating. I had to repeatedly leave my table to request extra napkins and water. After repeatedly asking different servers for various items, I finally lost my patience and simply walked around the restaurant, asking for sauces, extra meats, and so on. It was an absolute nightmare! There are countless other KBBQ spots out there; please avoid this one.
Always love a good KBBQ spot. This location gets very busy so call ahead or make reservations. The staff is great but because they are so busy sometimes they can be a bit slow, understandably. All the food is great but a few favorites are the spicy bulgogi, the carne asada and the Hawaiian steak. The new stuffed pancakes are Uh-Maze-Ing!! Drinks are good but a bit expensive.
We recently visited GEN Korean BBQ, and while things started off well, the night didn’t go as expected. The staff was friendly at first and service seemed smooth. We did notice the portion sizes were smaller than other all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ spots—especially for the price—but we let it slide since it was unlimited.
Then things took a serious turn. While eating, my friend bit into his rice and found a screw inside. Not a typo—an actual metal screw. He bit down on it, pulled it out, and we immediately notified our server. The waiter called over the manager, but it took about 15 to 20 minutes for someone to actually address the situation.
When the manager, possibly named Richard, finally came by, he offered to only comp my friend’s meal. That didn’t feel right to us. We had only been there 20–25 minutes and had barely received our first round of meat. Paying $30+ per person under those circumstances, especially with a health risk involved, didn’t make sense.
We explained the situation again, and Richard said he would reach out to his supervisor. After another 5–10 minutes, he came back and offered a more fair resolution, which we appreciated.
In the end, they did make it right—but the delay and the initial reaction were disappointing. If you’re going to run a busy restaurant like GEN, food safety and how you handle mistakes like this matter. I’m giving credit for the final resolution, but this experience definitely left us uneasy.
I think you have to be into the Korean food experience first. But even then unfortunately we had to stop people to get the help that we needed. We had seven people at a table of eight and there was not enough room for our plates and so forth and kept having to ask people to take things away.
Our waitress was a doll but she was not able or it was not her job to handle the table and keep everything flowing.
I went into the bathroom at 8:00 p.m. and the toilet paper was empty and one of the toilets was not flushing and the paper towels just ran out.
Been going there for quite some time nothing special nothing fancy the only reason we go there is it’s nearby our house. Last night went there with my family I had the worst ex experience ever. I felt like the employees are on a strike, and they’re doing their best to ruin your experience and make that restaurant look bad. Never experienced such a thing in my life.
First time coming and probably my last. Came here with a group of friends and it was packed. We waited for a bit, got seated and got to ordering. They start you off with a rice bowl, some sauces and condiments. I liked the ambiance but the waiter and servers were definitely overwhelmed because they would take a while to get to our table so we could order more food. We also ordered some drinks and they took forever to bring them out. We had to remind them like 2 or 3 times before we finally got them. And to top it off my drink was supposed to have alcohol but I couldn't taste it at all. My friend also ordered an alcoholic drink and you could definitely tell it had alcohol in it. So that was disappointing. We had to waive them down on numerous occasions so they could change our grill because it was smoking for way too long and it was hitting me right in the face. I'll be smelling like meat for like a week! You'd think they would change it out as soon as they see that it's blackened but we had to tell them. Also, my friend had to go up to the front desk on 2 or 3 occasions to ask for things we had ordered a while back. The quantity of the meat they would bring was ridiculous. It seemed enough for only 2 or 3 people but we had to divide between 5 adults and 1 child. Also, like 1 or 2 plates of meat that they brought over had a weird taste to them and we collectively decided that we weren't going to eat it. I've been to 1 other Korean BBQ and it was way better than this spot because they also had a salad bar. IDK if I'll come back here but you never know. Things can change but for now I wouldn't recommend it.
By far the worst customer service out of any KBBQ I’ve ever been to. Stay away.
Waitress is lucky i left a 3 star , enthusiasm is at a ZERO. Food was OK
Slow service, okay food.
My family and I have visited this location numerous times. We always come back because of the amazing service and the wonderful manager Juana who always makes sure that we are well taken care of. Would definitely recommend because of great food and service.
Restaurantji Recommends
Good waa good. My only issue was the hot sauce(chili paste) tastes like they mix it with ketchup. Also the mixed drinks have little to non alcohol. Good taste but lacking alcohol.
Horrible customer service and portion. Never gave a refill on the water. Bring a Stanley if you guys drink water! 🤪

“I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. From the moment we walked in, everything was a disaster. First, we had to wait way too long just to be seated. Then, they moved us to another table because the grill at the first one wasn’t working. After that, it took forever for our food to arrive. The worst part? We ordered ONE dish, but they charged us for THREE! When we tried to address this, the manager, Ashley, was unhelpful and didn’t seem to care. Our waitress, Anahit, was inattentive the entire time. This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had, and I left feeling completely ripped off. Avoid this place at all costs!’’
Horrible service, all servers are hiding and not bringing the food to the customers!
Don’t bother coming here, not worth your time and money.
