Very unique tasting pastries here... the hazelnut cream croissant (not sure if I got the name right) is my favorite, but honestly everything is delicious! I think its the bread they use for all the pastries its different and soOoOoOOo good! Lol

We placed a large sandwich order from Gio's at the recommendation of family who live nearby (and have coffee almost daily at Gio's!). Everyone in our group was impressed with the sandwiches from the quality of the bread to the flavor combinations. We also appreciated the wide range of options, and the ease of ordering over the phone. We plan to make Gio's our go-to stop on all future visits to the area!

Took 30 minutes to make 2 sandwiches. The chai latte tasted like a low quality powder mix.

Was in the area and decided to try this coffee shop instead of going to Starbucks. We ordered coffee and pastries & a crepe. We got our pastries right away and the crepe within 10min. So we figured coffee was on its way. Nope 20 min went by before two lattes came out still missing 2 americanos. When one of the girls there brought over something for another customer. I told her it’s over 20 min now and I’m still missing 2 of the coffees she just yeah I know. Finally the americanos were brought over by a different girl/lady she said sorry about that but we lost power and the expresso machine is broken so we are using one from home. Made no sense and if that was the case why not tell the customer when ordering so at least we know what to expect. Then the first girl came back over with 2 chocolate eggs for each of my kiddos. WTH! So you screw up and a chocolate is suppose to make it better. Mind you one of my kids ate his crepe with a cup of water if not he would have had a cold crepe since coffee was brought out 25-30min later. First and last time there. Regretted not going to Starbucks. Left and left them their chocolate eggs let them enjoy them and feel better for screwing up. Totally do not recommend.

This seems like a nice spot for pastries, though it seems a bit understaffed. The poor guy behind the counter was making drinks, getting pastries, and taking orders all himself. We got the pear-almond tarte and a creme brulee. They were both alright, but the tart wasn't as crispy as it could be. It was also quite expensive. It's definitely worth another try.

I really wanted to love this place! The wait staff were lovely and proficient. I wanted my spinach and feta pastry warm…but they said they could not heat it up for me! The cappuccino I ordered was not very hot, but it was good quality. The raspberry powdered pastry was dry inside. I would like to give GIO’s another try…but we are from out of state and probably will not return to Montrose for at least another year!

Classic Comfort, Montrose Style

Gio’s has that lived-in charm - the kind of place that feels like it’s always been there, even if you’ve only just discovered it.

There’s a quiet nostalgia in the air. It’s not trying to be trendy - it just is what it is. And that’s the magic.

The cappuccino was spot on - rich, smooth, and made with care. You really can’t beat a good cappuccino on a cool Montrose morning.

Unrushed. Familiar. Like a neighborhood should.

This is a wonderful place for baked goods like baguettes and croissants. The raspberry bignet is to die for just like the raspberry tart! They make my husband's favorite muffins. The BLTA is also delicious. The service is great! They even hold on to your to-go order if you eat there until you are ready to leave. The atmosphere is quaint with a lot of Paris frames and even a Parisian Cafe tapestry.

Great little cafe in the heart of La Crescenta-Montrose. Good coffee and croissants, especially the za’atar croissant it is mind blowingly good. Definitely recommend!

Rude ass girls that work there. First time I ever come in with my friends and they went to the restroom first before they ordered something and the girls behind the bar started saying among themselves “restrooms are for costumers only” then they come out and put a written sign on the door, when finally my friends ordered I lost my desire to order anything and they almost did too. They all had attitudes, not coming back here, doubt that my friends will either.

Great place with good quality food.
But the marble loaf cake is way overpriced.
Similar cakes can be found for less than 7$.

I found this place to be different from the one in La Canada in terms of food, ambiance, and service. I was disappointed—quite frankly. My ham and cheese panini had no veggies, and the salad didn’t have generous amount of dressing. (They should have given it to me on the side.) The wait was long, too. It was lacking in many ways.
