Go to café in Glendale.
Easily one of the best coffees you can get in the LA area and one of the best I've had in my life.
The pastries are extremely delicious too.

Highlight Coffee is not Starbucks. The way they roast their beans makes the coffee taste richer and bolder. Their baked food looks like stuff from a bakery, not a factory. The people who work their are more like restaurant staff, not baristas.🙄 The atmosphere is fantastic. I uploaded some photos. The building was a hotel built in 1937, sobthe architecturevis fabulous. The windows, the entrance door, and the interior is very inviting. The latte and croissant that I got were uniquely more delicious than anything I have ever gotten at Starbucks.

Highlight Coffee is the best cup of coffee in Glendale, hands down...so good, you'll turn around and get a 2nd cup.

Shout out to Jeremiah, who is kind, super welcoming and offers an awesome, warm smile. Jeremiah is the best!

Highlight of the day! Started off with a perfectly sweetened butterscotch oatmilk latte. I really thought I was gonna hate it but the other reviews said it was good so I had to try it. I would definitely stop by here again whenever I visit Glendale. The pastries also all looked so good but I don’t have the stomache to try all of them. I ordered a blueberry muffin and plain croissant but they had some vegan/gluten free donuts and some other delicious looking baked goods. The atmosphere is really pleasant and the service was very chill and polite. They played some good music (The Smiths) and had nice open windows to enjoy the outside view of cars passing by.

Stopped by Highlight Coffee for a large drip coffee—only $4.75, and worth every penny. The coffee is gourmet, smooth, and clearly made with care, far better than Starbucks or any other spot around.

The ambiance is great, the service is friendly, and the prices are solid. If you’re looking for a quality cup of coffee in town, this is the place to go.

The woman in the photo is the rude employee who decides to say “we’re not a public library go to Starbucks or Coffee bean…buy something or leave” I’d never forget the disrespect another woman could give another grown woman during national women history month/day. Absolutely ridiculous

Immediately no. This place does not welcome people, not even for a quick sit to escape the cold. A rude female employee spoke to me with complete disrespect, as if she was entitled to talk to a grown woman any kind of way.

This is supposed to be a neighborhood-friendly café, yet I was made to feel like I wasn’t part of the community. There were no signs stating that you must buy something immediately, yet I was harassed out as if my money wasn’t good enough for them.

Meanwhile, they have a huge American flag displayed—but what does that really mean here? This is America, but apparently not for everyone. How do you come to this country and treat Native Americans this way? Absolutely unacceptable.

I wouldn’t recommend this café to freelancers or filmmakers on the go—especially if you don’t make a purchase immediately. And even if you do, it better be over $3, or you’re apparently not worthy of their space. A female employee rudely told me, “Go to Starbucks or Coffee Bean,” as if she had the right to speak to another grown woman that way. Instead of handling the situation professionally, she made false claims and refused to take responsibility as a representative of this small business. This kind of attitude is exactly why independent businesses struggle to gain community support. If you’re looking for a welcoming and professional atmosphere, I’d suggest taking your business elsewhere.

I am writing to formally express my deep disappointment regarding the way I was treated at Highlight Coffee on March 6, 2025. As a Glendale resident, I was drawn to your café on a cold, rainy day when I noticed another freelancer working on a laptop inside. Assuming it was a welcoming neighborhood space, I stepped in briefly to send an important email and request my lyft ride -- I didn't originally imagine staying longer than 10 mins ... I was already on the go... However, within minutes of sitting down, I was approached by an employee and asked if I planned to order. While I understand the need for policies regarding seating, the interaction quickly turned unprofessional. I asked if there was a posted policy requiring immediate purchase, but instead of a straightforward answer, I was met with hostility. A female staff member rolled her eyes, made faces, and dismissively told me, "We're not a public library; you need to buy something or leave." When I requested her name to file a complaint, she refused and callously stated that I couldn’t complain since I wasn't a paying customer. At this point, I explained that I was pregnant, didn't want caffeine let alone coffee, needed a moment to send an email, and was simply waiting for my Lyft. Her response? "I don’t care." Feeling cornered, I purchased an apple juice just to avoid further escalation. Despite this, both employees refused to provide their names, and I later learned they had falsely reported to the owner that I was "causing trouble". Ultimately, they offered to refund my purchase—on the condition that I leave. This experience left me feeling harassed, disrespected, and unwelcome, particularly as an Indigenous woman. No customer, paying or not, should be treated with such disregard and hostility, especially in a space that presents itself as community-friendly. I expect an acknowledgment of this incident and a sincere apology from your team. If this issue is not addressed properly, I will make sure my experience is widely known, as no one deserves to be treated this way in a local establishment.

These people were very rude towards me even took it as far as to not give me their names and call the police because u didn’t make an immediate coffee purchase I have no respect for this company whatsoever I told them it was cold and about to rain I am pregnant and needed to make a call and email they forced me out due to me vocalizing how rude the female employee was to me making faces and telling me “we are not a public library” I don’t appreciate esp when I am a Glendale resident.
