While both comforting and disconcerting, entering any of the franchises seems to take you to the same location in time and space. I can only speak of my own experience, at only a handful of locales. The identical uniforms, menu, and aesthetic are understandable. Are they all facing the same direction, compass-wise? I’m unsure if I brightened your day when I approached you with a smile. As I stood there waiting for you to take my order, it felt like I was being ignored. I wanted to say something, but I had my child with me, so I chose to wait for you to assist me. Unfortunately, it seemed like I was invisible.
